@ContextMatters4 In reacting to GST, we tend to forget that previously a large part of this tax was always collected as Excise, which was mostly a hidden/unknown figure for most consumer goods. Now since the Excise+SalesTax is out in the open as a combined figure, we love to react!

@thesanjaydutt Good mainly for the dealer. See, if you want to sell an old Electric Motor, Compressor, Cables etc to them, they will pay for entire weight only as Iron. If you want the embedded Copper to paid at its higher price, then you are asked to separate it yourself before selling!

@deepakshenoy I think NSE recently talked of launching an Equal Weighted Index. If that can be made tradable, it will be a more versatile alternative. Or else Price Weighted one like the DJIA.
