Harker Heights is the first KISD school to advance to the fourth round of the football playoffs since Killeen in 2008. With a win next week, the Knights would be KISD's first state semifinalist since Ellison in 1996.
Killeen High graduate T'Mond Johnson advanced to the shot put finals in the Olympic trials earlier today. The top 12 advanced and Johnson was 10th. The finals are set to begin in about an hour.
Jamyron Keller scored 20 points and No. 3 Ellison completed a perfect run (16-0) through 12-6A with a 59-34 win at Waco Midway.

The brother of former KDH sports reporter Tony Altobelli was among those killed in the helicopter crash that claimed the life of Kobe Bryant. John Altobelli was head baseball coach at Orange Coast College. Tony is the SID there. He also lost his sister-in-law and niece.
