@RupertLowe10 IHT is state sponsored grave robbery. Annual tax take from IHT is c£7.5bn, we can easily afford to scrap that. To offset, just scrap £11bn overseas climate aid & £22bn carbon capture as well and £3bn pa for hotels for “uninvited guests”. Then audit other overseas aid too, simple

@Nervous_72 @DanNeidle @Should_I_Pay @Stephen41792571 @HMRCgovuk @loanchargeAPPG @Ray_McCann55 Any tax policy that drives individuals to bankruptcy and suicide is clearly the “wrong” policy, no ifs or buts, especially when HMRC are also culpable in this debacle, by not effectively challenging scheme promotors over the last 20 odd years, if they didn’t approve of them

@DanielJHannan Question for useful idiot Lammy, who the fcuk is going to pay for this. Is this before billions wasted on useful idiot Millibands carbon capture and other overseas eco lunacy or after 🤷♂️ time to defund this government

@nero_returns This is what happens when the lunatics are in charge of the financial asylum. Anything other than rudimentary domestic decisions seem to be above the capabilities of most MPs. Handling the nation’s finances needs taking out of their hands

@LC_Impact @LCAG_2019 @loanchargeAPPG HMT handed HMRC a golden ticket with the LC legislation. 8 years later they have still failed to close settlements. Therefore either the law was defective or HMRC failed in their duty and are incompetent or more likely both, defective and incompetent! It needs to be scrapped now

@LC_Impact @LCAG_2019 @loanchargeAPPG If LC legislation was effective, HMRC wouldn’t still have thousands of cases unresolved several years later. The only equitable solution is for it to be scrapped. How much do all the delays and reviews cost vs the actual tax take from just a few thousand victims

@HCsick @Ray_McCann55 @10DowningStreet @RachelReevesMP @jamesmurray_ldn @LabourList @Conservatives @LibDems @theSNP @duponline @NickFerrariLBC @IainDale The most defective and destructive piece of tax legislation over the last 25 years, along with IR35. Almost 8 years since FA 2017 and HMRC still have thousands of cases unresolved, which just proves how defective it is. The only resolution is to scrap it, not review it again

@LC_Impact As a measure of how wrong the LC is, let’s not forget that HMRC settlements contending loans are liable to PAYE also include a charge to IHT because it’s a settlement as well. Surely it can’t be both. Have you ever suffered IHT on your salary. Nope thought not…
