I know this isn’t the easiest post to read but I want to share a bit about my trauma and trust issues in the vtuber community, which is why I struggle to engage with others and participate in collabs. I’m truly sorry to anyone I’ve had to turn down. When I started VTubing in April 2023, the first few months were incredibly challenging and it’s only recently that I’ve been able to talk about it. In May 2023, I met another VTuber who raided me and we hit it off as friends since we lived in the same city. We gamed together, did plenty of collabs and eventually I invited him to hang out with me and my friends. Things developed beyond friendship after a night we spent together and we both agreed to see each other and date. However, shortly after he completely ghosted me while still talking to my friends. Later, he announced on stream that he was in a relationship with someone else who had also appeared on the stream. The situation worsened when he told his new boyfriend about our past and I was fully blamed for not being 'upfront' about it. Things became even more difficult when I later found out, through a friend who spoke with him, that he had been intimate with hundreds of men overseas. As someone with 5 chronic illnesses, this revelation caused me a major health scare and I had to undergo regular testing to ensure my safety, given the risks it posed to my condition. This was also compounded by another dark discovery: I found out through mutuals in the dance community that he had moved to my city around the time we met after being in a serious accusation within the KPOP dance cover community. This revelation has left me with deep trust issues and a hesitance to connect with others. I want to acknowledge that I’m responsible for certain choices I’ve made, but it’s been a tough journey and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. That said, I still face both physical and deep mental struggles when it comes to engaging with others, which is why participating in collabs can be challenging for me. I’ve been building more confidence in connecting with people and agreeing to collaborations, but the impact of my past experiences is something that stays with me. I hope this helps others understand where I’m coming from.

A VTuber who catfished people and shared revenge porn and never once expressed sincere remorse or offered a genuine apology is not someone who is “committed to being better”. You don’t get a pass on supporting & defending them for over a year just bc you wanted them to be better.
