Stop moving to Tennessee.
Once again, TN has been ranked a top state for growth by @uhaul. As people continue to move to the Volunteer State in record numbers, we’re making the right investments to guarantee opportunity, security & freedom for every family & business that calls TN home.

@Justin_Matheney @JakevolSOReel @Khcollett42 I never said I was. If you’re that invested you can always go to Massachusetts who is number one. Pretty far I know, but you’re already in the 2nd best state for K-12 in the entire southeastern United States so 🤷🏻♂️

@Justin_Matheney @JakevolSOReel @Khcollett42 If you want a faith based education I certainly don’t begrudge you that at all, but not two months ago I met a class of 12 year olds at Prescott that learned how to code and build their own robots. You are being willfully dumb about the resources around you.

So you have to answer 1 of 2 questions then. If schools aren’t losing out on funds, where are the additional funds for vouchers being sourced from? If it’s coming from the education budget, how are schools not losing funding?
Setting the record straight, Tennessee's Education Freedom Act establishes a funding floor for school districts. In other words, no district will lose funding due to disenrollment. Those claiming otherwise are either misinformed or grandstanding.

@Justin_Matheney @JakevolSOReel @Khcollett42 7,000 kids who can’t afford it are projected to be given a scholarship that doesn’t even cover the cost of going to private school. Of those 7,000 kids how many are going to be rural students whose parents even live within a drivable distance to a private school? Hardly any.

@JakevolSOReel @Khcollett42 @Justin_Matheney Exactly. Any time the government subsidizes a private good, the market factors it in. Biden wanted to do a $10,000 credit for housing and all it was going to do was raise the price of every house $10,000

@Justin_Matheney @Khcollett42 Justin, there are 1 million students in Tennessee’s school system. 20,000 scholarships. 20,000 of 1 million is 2%. That’s not bias it’s math.

@Justin_Matheney You don’t know enough about your own schools to even say that Justin lol. 2% of the states students will “benefit” from it at best. And of that 2%, 65% of recipients are already in private schools.
