BREAKING: This very same 76% of Americans were no where to be found the last 246 years when "all possible nominees" meant "only white males" 99.999999% of the time😒
BREAKING: Just over three-quarters of Americans (76%) want Pres. Biden to consider "all possible nominees," while 23% want him to follow through on his commitment to nominate the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, per a new

So choosing to kneel to protest racial injustice, inequality and oppression in your own country is unacceptable to you but sitting because you don't like a country is perfectly fine?
@jemelehill
This story angers me on so many levels. Especially how they are trying to paint that young man in a negative light to make it seem like its his own fault for being murdered
@Spartan4Moss
@crafty_lisafl
@jemelehill
I'm not getting how you think it's unacceptable for someone to fight for justice, equality and an end to systematic oppression. We love this country so why not hold it to a high standard? Oh, and you do realize that a green beret gave Colin Kaepernick the idea to kneel right?
@AngryBlackLady
This was me, Imani. Years ago I was anti choice. Thats how I was raised & I embraced it because I thought it was the right way to think. Once I began to actively learn more about the full complexity of pregnancy, birth and abortion along with actively listening, Im now pro choice
@CarrieCnh12
That sentence would have been perfect had she stopped at the first 5 words. The moment she said "BUT", it killed EVERYTHING. We were already all on her side & rooting for her & then she decided to tell two brilliant Black women athletes basically "U 2 aint have it as bad as MEEE"
@worldchangeryo
@common
And that's one of the biggest problems is that there are people like you who make uninformed statements like this not realizing you are doing more damage than good by saying ridiculous things like this
@Spartan4Moss
@crafty_lisafl
@jemelehill
You said it was unacceptable to kneel. They were kneeling in protest. So yes, based on your own tweets, they are connected. Also, when is a good time and place to protest for what's right? Only when it doesn't make you uncomfortable? Only Monday through Friday 9 to 5?
@Spartan4Moss
@crafty_lisafl
@jemelehill
????? "Do what you want on your own time"?? Next time someone wants to fight for any rights that you have, please make sure you tell them that EXACT phrase.
@ReignOfApril
@MatthewACherry
The fact that she pointlessly told this story that we never even knew about and gave us ALL of this to think and talk about still blows my mind.
@nimiayo_
All starts with the home. If a child knows they can do this without consequence, it will continue. Especially if they see this is how others in the home behave.
@Spartan4Moss
@crafty_lisafl
@jemelehill
Yes, the players are kneeling to fight against enemies in our own country. To fight for our American brothers & sisters who cannot fight for themselves. Colin was also kneeling for Military Veterans who are and have been mistreated when returning home.
As always, she's 100% correct. If we truly are good men like we claim we are, our anger should be directed at misogyny and those that live it & perpetuate it, NOT those that are informing us of its existence.
@Spartan4Moss
@crafty_lisafl
@jemelehill
Protesting for different reasons doesn't change that they are both protests. Not to mention that both protests happened at sporting events. If you can tell football players to "protest on their own time" then you should have no problem saying the same thing to Pence
Every single man needs to watch this video and listen to what Franchesca is saying. Her story is not an anomaly, and all of us men need to do much, much better in how we interact with women and holding other men accountable too. She is 100% correct.
Off the top of my head, these all hit HARD-
Michael Jackson
Bernie Mac
Walter Payton
Whitney Houston
Aaliyah
Lisa Lopes
Tupac Shakur
Notorious B.I.G.
Prince
John Ritter
Robin Williams
Chris Farley
Phil Hartman
Owen Hart
Kurt Cobain
@Kyla_Lacey
Exactly!!! And in addition to that, by following her own logic, 'American' is also a label just like 'African-American' is. So its not that she's against labels, she's against SOME labels. It always annoys me when people say they dont like labels & then say what label they prefer
@CannonsGray
@jumpedforjoi
So by your logic, until now, the fact that almost all directors on big budget blockbusters were white males indicated to you that it was based on merit, but now that more non-white men and women are now being hired, they are only getting the jobs because they are non white?😕
@jemelehill
If I did what he did at ANY of my jobs at any point in time, not only would I never be allowed to work for that company again, that whole industry would blacklist me. Not even debatable.
@HenryRBishop
Admit to the benefits. Reject them to the fullest extent you can by revealing them. If you aren’t sure how you’ve benefitted, have a good faith dialog with a woman you trust about it, and once you understand, tell everyone. Sell out the men you see cashing in. Tell the truth.
I absolutely love this. Not surprisingly, Kubrick perfectly captured my thoughts on the importance of viewers discovering films for themselves. Take a moment and listen to this if you can. Worth your time.
Every single man needed to read this. All of us. Its too important to ignore or dismiss. Even if you assume this doesn't apply to you, still read it. Its THAT serious.
If you’re a man reading this and you know you’ve done this, just shut the fuck up and don’t do it again. You didn’t persuade anyone to do shit. You used your privilege to assault someone. Maybe even someone you pretended to care about. So sit down. Shut the fuck up. Do better.
This is obviously exactly what the judge needed to say because it's 100% accurate. Overjoyed your abuser was held accountable by this judge. Judges who understand this NEED to become the rule and not the exception. All survivors deserve nothing less.
14 people wrote letters in support of my abuser. The judge‘s response:
“It shows how the offender is able to construct an image of himself that is very different from reality..the statements are a perfect illustration of the insidious nature of tragedy experienced in private.”

Even though its fake, im still blown away by people that think Toni could hang with Mary. I love Toni and she is one of my favorites but song for song, hit for hit, 20 to 20, I realistically don't see any way Toni could beat Mary. Even more shocked that you said 'wipe the floor'
@TardiveT
@emrazz
If you personally have an issue with the things she says about men, then you are they type of man she is referring to. If you did as much active listening as you did complaining about her posts, you might actually learn something.
@CannonsGray
@jumpedforjoi
Genuine question: what do you think directors have always been hired based on merit? What did you think was going on over the last 100 years? That all those white males must have been the most qualified for the job?
@SupaStarDad
@jemelehill
@Kenny_Mayne
That awkward moment when a person makes an ignorant and uninformed comment about Jemele Hill being a "race baiter" when the article about race she is sharing was written by a *whispers* white man. He clearly didnt think this comment through before posting it which is no surprise.
@Damn_Taffer
@musegold
@The_Acumen
Understood. Its very easy for you to complain when you dont utilize all the facts and context. Sounds like youre an expert at that. If you want to continue to spread misinformation, thats your choice. Have a good day.
@PiccoloDraco
@ReignOfApril
Oh ok. I understand now. Your just trolling. I should have known that based on your original comment. Have a wonderful day.
I worked the front door at Best Buy in '06. She brought a part of her laptop in for repair & as I put a sticker on it, we locked eyes & couldnt stop smiling. I asked for her number & called her later that day to go out that same night. After dinner, I knew I wanted to marry her❤️
@ingodwetryst
@jemelehill
Yes, thats exactly what she was saying. Thank you for clarifying. Im glad you were here to figure that out for us. (Said no one with sense)
@CannonsGray
@jumpedforjoi
I knew u couldnt answer that. Wait & see is a cop out. If youre going 2 make the accusation, back it up with facts. What directors specifically r u assuming were hired based on their race? Cite specific examples. Also, what do u think about them hiring white males 2 pander?
@aprettyPR
Oh my God! That is wholly psychotic. Beyond cruel. That is so despicable, and I am completely shattered for her. I am so glad she left and filed for divorce. The fact that he thought all that he put her through & all that she felt was funny shows that he is pure evil.
@emrazz
My heart breaks for her. Its very necessary, but still infuriating, to be reminded about countless women abused, molested, assaulted & disrespected so blantantly out in the open & we not only dismissed it but laughed it off. Us men created & sustained this disgusting environment.
@joepeeps017
@AdamSchefter
1) LeBron supports the protest
2) ESPN didnt take a knee, the players did.
3) Equality is a human issue, not a political one
@jemelehill
Apparently if someone murders a police officer then any statements against police brutality, institutional racism or racial profiling become null & void😑
@geoisasocialist
Whatever works for you. Its just such an overwhelming waste of energy to complain about someone choosing to select a qualified Black women for a job. Save that energy for those who have allowed 2022 to be the 1st year where a Black women is even a finalist for the SCOTUS.
@emrazz
This post genuinely scares me. Not because I disagree at all(I completely agree). What scares me is that I honestly thought these were extremely easy questions that I personally couldnt fathom not knowing about my wife. But to be clear, it was scary but Im not surprised.
@CarrieCnh12
Exactly. It added absolutely nothing to do with her moment so I genuinely dont understand why she even thought it made sense to say. I hope she reflects back on this & owns that what she said was ridiculous & she apologies to Black women in general and specifically Venus & Serena
@Raquel_Savage
@cinna_Von
Nothing worse than a man that "thinks" he's figured it out but actually has no clue whatsoever. Makes himself look so foolish
@AngryBlackLady
An old white man clueless about race and too lazy to do the homework beforehand to keep from embarrassing himself. It's sad how not surprising this is.
@PSyn3
@common
If it's cool then why the question? If you said you love your son and I responded "That's cool, but what about everyone else's son's?", would that make sense?
@emrazz
@choccaramelnut
Yes, I've noticed it too, and I dont understand it. Just now, I went back to it and liked and RT'd it again. I'm always more than happy to continue to amplify tweets that are this important and will continue to do so, but its strange how they keep disappearing like that.
@KidMartyr
@jemelehill
The problem is how dismissive it was. Showing compassion, caring and empathy would have been quite easy to do but he chose not to
@SBBFilm
Wow. This clip is disturbing. He looks & sounds so disgusted when she first spoke. Even more disturbing that he seemed upset because she actually spoke highly of herself. All of his verbal & non-verbal cues are huge red flags to me. I would never even JOKE with my wife like that
@DjJayWhit
@jemelehill
There have been MANY professional mens sports that didnt make money and that didnt change until people made the effort to invest in them to make sure they had what they needed. Sexism & misogyny is the overwhelming reason they arent where they should be, not quality of product
@Lane_Raq
@emrazz
Sadly, it never ceases to amaze me how delusional many men truly are. Your response is one of the main reasons why these problems exist. So quick to dismiss them without actually putting for genuine effort to listen.
@joepeeps017
@AdamSchefter
The real failures r the racial injustices & inequalities that exist in our great country. The same failures that LeBron James has mentioned
@NHA1481
@jemelehill
@amnesty
Yeah, how dare he chose to fight against inequality, injustice and oppression!! Putting others before himself and being active in the community and donating his own money to countless causes. THE NERVE!!!!!
