The last thing I published was 1200 words on a small topic I had been thinking about for ten years.
Writing is only painful when I haven't had the time to do the pre-thinking. The thinking doesn't need to be done, but maybe 80%? That frees me up to enjoy the last 20% that only happens when I'm actually typing
