My nephew, who was 9 in 1999, loved Ep 1-3. I was 11 in 1977 and saw the originals during their initial release. Needless to say I was disappointed by, not impressed by Ep 1-3 for a variety of reasons but thats ok. They were meant for my nephew not my then 33 year old ass

The editing in the Apocalypse Now opening is one of the most effective introductions to not only the world within a film but into the claustrophobic mindset of the main character. Draws me in every time I watch it. And Ive seen the film a lot.
