Taken this approach for a few seasons now… “attacking without the ball” *, a ‘bold’ approach (which players often want to take) which can be particularly effective against teams committed to playing out ⚽️ *thanks to Brian Ashton for coining that phrase which I’ve nicked
Modern pressing approach looks to control opponents in their own half with the gamble being that if your press is broken you can drop back and cover. Pep and Mikel tiptoe around one another's build up/high press. Klopp just yeets it through and finds the space.
