Friends. I am retiring from
@fox8news
after the
@Browns
season is over. 41 years here. I am so grateful for my colleagues , athletes, viewers. You are all simply the best ! . With me., my main inspiration!! The Bride
I have covered a bazillion Browns teams from1980 to now. some real clunkers where you wondered when the final game would ever come. And fans have suffered alot. But this year with obstacles weekly, these guys deliver. They are 8-3... Try to enjoy
#Browns
You know what’s one of the coolest parts about the
#Browns
success . The nation is hearing a lot of Jimmy Donovan calls and they can hear how good he is . Just imagine all those years he did play by play for horrific teams.
Based on geotagged tweets (200,000 examined) the
#Browns
are top tailgating fan base . Bills, Eagles, Jets and Steelers come next. All hail the Muni Lot
Nev Chandler was a tremendous sportscaster as many Clevelanders may remember . He passed away 25 yrs ago today. He was a competitor but most importantly, a friend. I wanted to stop and salute his brilliance. He made all of us better. “5-4-3-2-1 touchdown”
Since 13, he has existed on a stage with the world watching. Unreal expectations each year that he exceeds. Exemplary conduct as a role model/charitable man. And for 15 yrs, brilliance & greatness. This is for whom the term superstar is meant 4
@KingJames
Nick Chubb has 4 career fumbles. 4. In 4 years. 2 in a game in rainy weather vs Patriots. That’s it 4. Yes, the one yesterday was critical but he will atone for it
@Browns
I am blessed to be able to dictate my exit after 41 years.
@fox8news
Many of my friends , Casey Coleman ,Nev Chandler ,Les Levine ,Fred McLeod were not so fortunate. BTW Freddy died 2 yrs ago tonight. Keep him in your prayers please
This photo taken not long after September 15, 1980, the day I began at Channel 8. I enter year 39 at the same spot I began. I still love what I do, and it has always been about the athletes, their stories. The Games. Privileged to relate the stories .
#Thanks
Hard to believe my 41 plus years, of ever day anchoring or reporting the sports at Fox 8 will come to an end shortly after Browns season ends. Blessed beyond belief.
#GratitudeAttitude
Started tv career 1976 in Rapid City, South Dakota
Our country has jumped the shark when a president uses social media to bash an athlete that just did the opposite of “ shut up and dribble” by opening a school for at risk kids. I know LeBron has criticized Trump before but this takes the cake
Remembering my late colleague. Went to the Lord 15 years ago today. He made lots of people laugh. He loved his Cleveland sports. Being the son of an iconic sportscaster had its pressures. Battled alcoholism and inspired many to lead sober lives.
#RIPCasey
I am somewhat old school, but this is a great photo posted by team.... celebrating Hollywood Higgins TD..notice

Metaphor for what this year has become
The beauty of our city is such that a very humble fan who showed dedicated endurance and love for his team, would be so beloved by the entire city, more beloved, in some cases, than those he pounded the 🥁for. Rest in peace, John Adams.
@CleGuardians
Spent two hours watching a CLEVELAND team play hard, battle to the wire, be in a position to win but a shot didn’t drop. However no anger or angst cuz the
@Cavs
are fun to watch and building something .
I can’t begin to thank
@TheRock
for taking even a few moments of his busy schedule to send me this amazing video - talk about an incredible human being & someone who pays it forward! Thx you
@LindseyBaseball
for the gift of a lifetime!
It’s not just that he rules the octagon but it’s how he handles himself. Nobody represents the grit and resilience of the city of Cleveland like
@stipemiocic
I mean, come on he’s a firefighter. As Bad A%# as they come
#UFC241
Incredibly blessed to leave on my terms but will miss my tv family and viewers. Will be “ around” and will continue tweeting because we need decent convo to counter the knuckleheads !!
@fox8news
Little
#Goddard
factoid. He knew the nicknames or mascots of every high school in Ohio. You could not stump him.
#RIPGoddard
@fox8news
. Saw him work stats for all the
@Browns
play by play guys . Dead on accurate on every stat.
There’s a rumored “sunset” and I’m not in a newsroom, I’m running the trails!! This is a new development!!!😎😎😎
#retiredguytweet
Better a tweet than a sunset announcement at
@fox8news
right Lou???
Our neighbors, The Bride & kids surprised me Sunday with a retirement send off. Handful of families who have gotten together every Sunday since pandemic began. So special. Super blessed . Today is the day , Gulp 😳
I met Dick Goddard 40 years ago next month. I was the fresh kid working at a place where icons like Dick were revered all over NEOhio. He welcomed me instantly/ made me feel like 1of the guys. But we always knew Dick was THE franchise . RIP Mr. G.
@fox8news
His first start in 14 months. He battled leukemia . He was given the Roberto Clemente Award.. There’s a pandemic.....
@Cookie_Carrasco
is a beast
@Indians
10 K’s 🙏
I have covered all the heartbreak ,Drive, Fumble, Modell moving the team. The musical chairs at coach and the Brokaw jersey with all the quarterback names. This was special . I am very happy for some of the sports most loyal , dedicated fans!!
#Browns
Enjoy
It’s no wonder 400,000 say they were at Municipal Stadium for Barkers perfect game in 81. When Joe Tait did a game he made you feel like you were right there.
@cavs
@Indians
#legend
#RIP
Joe Tait would have been 84 this May 15th , the night he called Lenny Barkers perfect game on tv 40 years ago in 1981. Behind the mic, Joe made things feel perfect as a Birthday celebration with all the fixings
@cavs
@Indians
The reason Higgins lost the ball was because he was hit in the helmet.....at the very least, give ball back to offense at original line of scrimmage... or have that a play that can be reviewed. Refs should not miss helmet to helmet
#browns
@fox8news
.
@MattLoede
represented the best of us all. A warrior in his battle with cancer..a strong man of faith. A Dear Friend to so many of us in sports media. He covered hundreds & hundreds of events. Such a pro. He vowed recently we would get a run soon. Damn
38 years ago today, May 15, 1981.. Lenny Barker pitched 10th perfect game in history
@fox8news
@Indians
300 k claim to have been there 🤣 ignore previous tweet, had it at 39 years.
Fred McLeod was a pros pro. I am just stunned at the news he has passed . In 80, Freddie left Channel 8 and I was hired to replace him. From that moment we were in communication, trading interviews and looking out for each other. So sorry for
@Cavs
What if the
#NFL
were like this...
Joe Buck “ Cleveland has won the toss and has elected to not count any Steelers second half scoring , should the Browns lead at the half “
This is my little brother Matthew(18)
At 6 weeks old he was told he’d never be able to walk. Stuck in a wheel chair his whole life.
~2 months ago he was told it was possible.
This is him, 1 month into training alongside me, walking a full 40 yards without any support.
Huge anniversary for me to share with you. Sept 15th I celebrated my 40 th anniversary at
@fox8news
. Can’t thank enough my colleagues and our viewers and the tons of media folks I have known over the years. My bosses are keeping me around. Thx much!
The
@cavs
have the Rookie of the Year, a great team mindset , Garland is tons of fun and has a killer mentality behind that smile. Rubio was a great addition. And..they are ascending. The escalator is not stopping
What’s very wild to comprehend is the
@browns
had just 1 victory over TWO seasons, and just won twice in 4 days, and one was over
@steelers
. There’s your parade
@Reflog_18
😂😂
Joe Tait was the punctuation to the one handed jam...the violin soloist to a crossover dribble and behind the back pass. Joe Tait translated from rural farm hoops, on hard packed dirt, to the glitzy modern
#nba
world. Joe Tait mattered
@cavs
#RIP
a lot of experts said Stefanski would prove his worth tonight ,which some could take as meaning the team would not play well without him... I felt his worth was in the culture he established...and they responded ... the other key was Nick and Kareem running.
