My first live directed VO session happened back in 2018. The director kept laughing TO MY FACE about how bad my performance was. I think back on that moment sometimes, and I’m really glad I didn’t quit because of it. Despite how embarrassing and discouraging it was.

Don’t be so shut off from the community. I didn’t make friends in VO until almost a year after I started because I felt like a fraud with no credits or skill to validate myself in the presence of other actors. After I found friends, everything else became easier.
