Saudi Arabia is among the Arab nations pushing back on @realDonaldTrump Gaza plans, instead calling for a two-state solution with East Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state. This is a non-starter for Israel. It will never give up East Jerusalem. The Palestinians have Ramallah as their capital. Further, as many regional experts agree, you cannot have peace when one does not acknowledge the other’s right to exist.

Was it the goal of Israel for Hamas to murder men, women, and children on October 7th? To rape, torture, and brutalize hostages? To continue attacking civilians in Gaza and the Palestinian territories. It is “delusional” and “insane” to think people can live in a wasteland where Hamas (and Palestinian Islamic Jihad) continues to rule by violence and brutality. These Hamas apologists always go back to the same tired argument having to do with 1947 and 1948.

There is, however, a US private security firm that is helping run security through the Netzarim corridor in Gaza, in conjunction with the IDF. This is a private contractor that has former US military on the ground in Gaza.
UPDATE ON GAZA PLAN: "It does not mean boots on the ground in Gaza. It does not mean American taxpayers will be funding this effort...."

On November 8, 2023 I embedded with IDF forces into Gaza City - the first US journalist during the war to see the humanitarian corridor set up stretching from Northern Gaza south. The destruction, even at that point and by Gaza standards, was immense. Along with the destruction, I also remember the overwhelming stench. As I described it then: The smell of death.

@SteveWitkoff is correct; Rebuilding Gaza in 5 years is unrealistic. And @realDonaldTrump has a point about relocating Gazans in the meantime. However, they have not addressed one critical problem - how to end Hamas and prevent the terror organization’s regrowth. Hamas may have been “devastated” as @netanyahu says, but it has not been destroyed. It still has military capabilities and power over the people.
