They've been in 2 of the 6 games we've gotten since Reach, Wars 2 and Fireteam Raven. Halo Wars 2's "I Know You" trailer even treated their moment in it as

@NomadicAllo @AdamProsser12 @Halo Not really, they are menitoned in dialog only in both games. Not once do they psychically appear or do anything of note, in Spartan Strike you even take their place as a lone Spartan IV making it pretty clear the message is "Spartans are replacing ODSTs get over it."

@NomadicAllo @AdamProsser12 @Halo grand return for the ODSTs, ODSTs by in large HAVE been forgotten. But not by 343 (as we know they pitched multiple projects focused on them) but by Microsoft. Microsoft/Xbox Studios have it in their heads that if Halo isn't Spartan focused then it can't be successful.
