If you’re like me, you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by the news from day to day. Accidents, tragedies, chaos, division. I wish you could have also been with me the last two days when the athletes of @SpecialOlympics refreshed my spirit and reminded me of what’s possible. Jake told me, “I stay motivated and inspired by getting out and walking and getting in shape with my friends.” Montrelle from Illinois told me that he used to be bullied, but today, he is having lunch with the kids who at one time wouldn’t even talk to him. DJ Keegz, Special Athlete and DJ, showed hundreds of us that even in the toughest of times, we can dance. Thanks to all the members of Congress and the United States Senate for their support of our athletes. Inclusion is not a dead movement. On the contrary, it’s alive, bursting with energy, and determined to succeed. Thank you, Special Olympics.
