Nothing like a summertime rain storm. This is the view of Uptown Charlotte right now. It's coming down in buckets. Thankfully, it shouldn't last too long.

Well the sun sure was nice to see a few times this weekend. The rain is back with us to start the work week. I'll give you a look at the latest radar coming up on Eyewitness News at noon!

Tropical Storm Erin has formed in the Eastern Atlantic. Its expected to become a major hurricane by this weekend. Right now, all models have this storm turning right and staying out to sea. I'll have the latest forecast for the Carolina's coming up at noon!

There is nothing quite like a nice rainy Sunday evening. We'll see these showers continue for the next few hours before winding down closer to midnight. I'll tell you what we can expect for the work week coming up on Channel 9 Eyewitness News at 6!

10:14 PM 7/27: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Chesterfield County. This line of storms is producing 60 mph wind gusts, a ton of lightning and heavy rainfall. It's moving E at 15 mph.

We have a nice line of showers and storms in our Eastern Counties this evening. These may have some heavy rain and a few gusty winds with them but the overall severe threat is low. At least part of the area is getting a brief break from the heat.

1:20 PM 7/27: We have some pop up showers out there this afternoon. Unfortunately, it won’t give us any real relief from the extreme heat today. We are sitting at 97 at CLT as of 1 PM. Stay cool out there! 😎

4:50 PM 7/22: We have another tropical like shower moving through South Charlotte this evening. It's moving South at 15 mph but could bring heavy rain to Blakeny and Wesley Chappel. I'm tracking lower humidity coming up on Eyewitness News.

This line of storms over in Stanly County could have some gusty winds up to 40 mph. It's moving SE at 15 mph towards Anson & Richmond Counties. Here's the latest timing!

Happy Sunday! We do have some heavy downpours moving through South Charlotte this evening. These are pushing into Union County and could drop some heavy rain. Thankfully, nothing more than a summer shower with this one!

Showers with heavy rain are moving through Charlotte from Uptown to Matthews. It's all moving NE and should be out of here later on this afternoon. This is definitely going to slow you down in East Charlotte.

Our neighbors in Texas cannot catch a break. The Texas Hill Country is under threat of another flash flooding heading into the overnight hours. This is the same area that was hit with devastating floods a little over a week ago. Lets keep these folks in our prayers.

That weather turned on a dime. Storms with heavy rain and a lot of lightning continue to move through Charlotte. A FLOOD ADVISORY has been issued for East Charlotte until 10:45 PM. Minor flooding will be possible as these storms slowly move East.

Showers with heavy rain continue to slowly push East. Seeing some storms from Matthews to Monroe. These are just your run of the mill summer storms. So nothing to worry about overnight. Keith will have your full forecast starting at 4:30 AM.

10:25 PM 7/1: Showers and storms have picked up once again. This time across the metro from Concord to Rock Hill seeing some moderate to heavy rain. I'll tell you when we dry out coming up on Eyewitness News at 11.

8:45 PM 7/1: Flash Flood Warning for Watauga County including the cities of Boone & Blowing Rock until 2:45 AM. This area has received 2-4 inches of rain over a short amount of time and flash flooding is likely occurring.
