Friday's horse racing thread ๐งต Southwell 1.30 Margot Robbie 11/2 each way Southwell 2.30 Left Over Love 15/8 Fakenham 2.38 Diamond Egg 25/1 each way Kelso 2.50 Wise Eagle 1/1 NAP Southwell 3.00 Royal Zabeel 9/4 NEXT BEST Kelso 3.20 Prairie Wolf 11/4 Kelso 3.50 Grand Albert 7/4 This won't take a great deal of winning so MARGOT ROBBIE might be value to make a winning return. She has a 403-day absence to overcome but there is reason to think she could be off a lenient mark sent handicapping for the first time. She should appreciate this step up to 7f and her trainer has done well with these types (3 have placed from the last 5) so at 5/1 she looks worth a go. After going down just a head on debut (when well backed) LEFT OVER LOVE was then turned over at cramped odds at Lingfield last month. She was nailed virtually on the line and while it was obviously disappointing to be beaten at such a short price it wasn't a bad run in defeat. Back up a furlong here should suit and on the clock I make her hard to beat. Given a chance by the handicapper DIAMOND EGG might run better than a 25/1 chance at Fakenham on Friday. He hasn't shown anything in two starts for this yard but down another 5lb if he can get back to the form he showed for Chris Gordon then he'd definitely have a squeak in this. I think the fact Tara Iti is a 2/1 fav tells you about the lack of strength in depth in this so I can see him running well. Expecting WISE EAGLE to be hard to beat here. He hacked up at Musselburgh and then followed up impressively again at Catterick. He bumped into one back on the Flat at Newcastle last month so won't be lacking for fitness and back over hurdles now handicapping for the first time looks nicely treated to go in again. Mack The Man should go off the front and that could help the selection settle better. Great chance for ROYAL ZABEEL to complete the hat-trick. He ran a massive race on stable debut before beating Billyb over C&D and then followed up when well backed at Wolverhampton last month. That has produced two winners since so the form certainly has substance. He is up 5lb again but could still be ahead of the handicapper and must go well. This is a good race but PRAIRIE WOLF looks to have some strong form and he could take a lot of stopping. He came good winning at Haydock last month and that has worked out well since. The third Dr T J Eckleburg bumped into Gunsight Ridge at Sandown and the fourth Xcitations won yesterday. Even the fifth The Famous Five ran well behind Donnacha so the form is stacking up. He is up 6lb but looks sure to run another big race. Myretown is talented and was still going quite well when falling 3 out at Windsor but who knows if his confidence would have been knocked and even so GRAND ALBERT absolutely dotted up at Wetherby when last seen. That was just his second start over fences and while the handicapper has reacted he might not have a huge amount to beat as he bids to follow up.

Of course the shortlist did better than the actual thread! ๐ โ๏ธ Demoiselle Kap โ๏ธ Tradecraft โ๏ธ River Run Free โ๏ธ Noble Victory โ๏ธ Likealot
Other thoughts (away from the thread) on the racing this afternoon and tonight. Clonmel I thought Ballygunner Castle deserved to be fav in the 1.45 at Clonmel. Market seems to have corrected overnight now. I did have a good look at Banprionsa in the lucky last as was only beaten narrowly on chase debut. She should improve and has a favourites chance but yard form still not convincing. Newcastle Hard to ignore the money for Demoiselle Kap in the 4pm. She has plenty of experience and won readily over hurdles at Sedgefield last time. Off the same mark back over fences and is hard to oppose. I don't bet in bumpers but I did think Conman John was the one to beat but they've backed Dramatic License. I still think the former will come out on top so 9/4 could look quite big. Sandown Jackpot D'ainay does appeal in the opener. Impressed beating Diamond Koda at Market Rasen and I rate that horse. I was close to putting him up but try not to punt in these conditional jockeys races now. Been stung too many times. Not sure how Farceur Du Large got beat the last day and should make amends here. Again try not to have a bet in the Artillery Gold Cup albeit I do enjoy watching the race and obviously for a great cause. Not from a punting point of view but the 3.40 is interesting as I'm keen to see how Tradecraft gets on. Still a horse with potential and can't help but feel Lawrenny is short especially with the promise Le Tieps Sacre could bring to the table as well. Classic Anthem the right fav especially with Sean Bowen up but I did think Jupiter Du Gite would be a big danger. Again not a lot in this so expect it to be a good race and a tricky one to get involved in from a punting perspective. Tom Doniphon fully expected to win the lucky last but short enough. Only see King Califet as the danger with Cobden up but expect the fav to win and bring up the hat-trick. Leicester Another short one and perhaps worth doubling with Tom Doniphon at Sandown River Run Free should prove too good here. Unexposed having won on handicap debut at Lingfield and can improve plenty more yet. My Stat Bet runs in the 2.05 at Leicester - put this up as a 4 point win on oddschecker. Reasons are listed but ticks nearly every box and should have too much for that field. Bucksy Des Epeires fully expected to win the 2.40. Bumped into The Kalooki Kid at Doncaster and that form looks rock solid. More to come and winnable so no surprise to see him a warm order with the yard going well. I noticed the support for Harel Du Marais in the penultimate race on the card last night. Tried to make a case but struggled. That has continued today and right into 8/1 now so turning into quite a big gamble and will be worth monitoring. Chelmsford Expecting The Craftymaster to win the opener as ran a big race beaten just a neck at Lingfield. Speed figures are the best on offer but again these hands and heels apprentice races are best avoided. Noble Victory looked a great bet in the 6pm but absolutely hammered now 5/4 into 4/9 - gamble of the day. That yard don't normally miss. Rossa Ryan has an interesting newcomer being a half-sister to Catch My Breath Likealot been well backed in the penultimate race on the card. Anything that gets punted against a Godolphin debutant is probably working the house down at home.
