The worst part of what Browns did wasn’t signing Watson, but agreeing to contract that helps him mitigate or even avoid virtually any financial consequences from the NFL. Who does that with 22 accusations still out there. I don’t agree with signing him, but this is much worse
Some compare Vick to Watson. Vick admitted responsibility. Went to jail, received yrs of treatment, agreed to making amends, repaid all money owed, & initially got a small non guaranteed 1 yr contract. Watson says I did nothing wrong & got hugest contract ever. Sounds the same?
Usually not a conspiracy guy, but hard to believe he was this happy to lose 30M unless he knew he had an insurance policy. Then signed an hour later, and got a deal that made him whole
One of the most lopsided trades we have seen in a long time. The 1,2 & 3 saints gave up for 16 was enough that they could’ve used it to trade for almost any nfl star player not a QB and had picks left over. Instead they got a mid first round pick. Crazy.
It turns out that a lot of people who claim to be against hate are actually only against hate directed at them, and not against all hate. Huge disappointment.
If a white player said anything about AA’s as outrageous as what Desean Jackson said about Jews tonight there would at least be a serious conversation about cutting him and a need for a team meeting to discuss. Which would be totally appropriate. Absolutely indefensible.
Eagles pick of Dean reminds me of Trotter pick. No one doubted talent, but injury scared everyone off. With a little luck maybe history can repeat itself
Ben is playing for 14M this year. An absurdly low salary for a QB and he took a real pay cut, not a fake restructure one. This is a player who is really trying to help his team win now.
In Steelers proposal to Bell at the end of 19 season he would’ve pocketed 33M. In deal he got he will be at 14.5. Behind by almost $20M. This may be the worst contract decision we have ever seen a player make, and it should’ve been obvious to him and his agent.
The eagles are playing in SB because they were willing to admit that they made a mistake on Wentz. With job preservation a big factor for many nfl decision makers we don’t see enough teams do what they did. That courage, that objectively is why they are playing in the SB.
The Pats are about to win 10 games for the 16th straight time. Not sure that is getting the attention and credit it deserves. With an upside down draft and a cap that makes sustained success very hard, that is an incredible accomplishment. 👍👊
Can’t wait to get to Canton on Friday for Dawkins induction to HOF. Many blame me for his departure which I deserve part of the blame for, but I am proud to also have been part of drafting him & signing him to 4 contracts. One of the greatest players and people I have ever known
NFL owners that made large donations to support Trump should not be listened to, now that they want to come off as caring about racial justice. Media has a responsibility to challenge them and call the hypocrisy what it is. Fake🤷♂️
The giants didn’t even get the Browns best third. Gettleman has made one inexplicable decision after another since he got the job. Hard to explain any, forget all of his moves.
Have to admit as someone who was on NFL live for a few years, this group is the best version of this show we have ever had. Quality of insights, combined with humor and great chemistry makes it a great watch.
Richard Sherman claims Baker is disrespecting the game by not shaking hands. Turns out the entire thing is fabricated. Talk about being disrespectful. Outrageous behavior by Sherman
Coach commentators blaming Dak. Teams do practice that situation and everyone knows that you should assume you need at least 16 seconds to call that play and ideally 18. Cowboys called that play with 14 seconds to go. That mistake is on the play call not the players
The Browns made a good deal to create a path for a better player to play more, save cap dollars and add a draft pick. Some criticize. Sometimes there is no winning with people.
The Chiefs are the new Patriots. They have a great HC & QB & GM & every move they make is smart. Give Clark Hunt credit. Almost every owner has restricted team spending for now. Chiefs correctly saw the moment as an opportunity & kicked ass. This decade is theirs, multiple SB’s
It is just amazing that none of the QB needy teams signed Bridgewater as a 2 who could compete to be a 1. Huge missed opportunity. A number of teams that will regret that. I’m told he has looked outstanding. This will be a different version of Dion Lewis if he stays healthy.
Continue to read about Eagles cap challenges for next year. The eagles will have over 30M in cap room without doing anything purely for cap purposes. The have no cap issue and will be able to sign or resign players if they want.
Raiders putting their money into signing AB vs resigning Mack for a little more money, may be one of the worst decisions an NFL front office has ever made.
At current trend the Raiders will get pick 23ish from Bears in 2020 and give them back pick 37ish. Meaning they got a pick in the 20’s in “19” and a flip of about a dozen spots in 2020 for Mack. That could be one of the worst trades ever if it goes that way.
Let’s be perfectly clear. The releasing of veteran players on the eve of training camp is wrong and indefensible, unless there are circumstances we are unaware of, and have been clearly explained to the player and agent. It’s just wrong.
Lynch confirms that 49ers were always picking Lance. All the hours discussing how good Jones was whether or not he should be the 3rd pick and some mock drafters having five QB’s in top picks. I can’t find a single NFL board that had him that high. So many hours spent on a mirage
Just terrible. Five championship appearances in 8 years. Nine division titles in 13 years. Best winning record in NFC over a decade, most playoff appearances and wins in a decade. A ton of pro bowl players and even a few HOF’s. Just terrible!!!!!
The story of the day is not the coaches that get fired, it’s the GM’s who still have jobs. How the GM’s are getting the benefit of the doubt that coaches aren’t getting is hard to explain
It’s going to be a riot if Eagles are ever the victims of what they did last night. The Eagles fans will suddenly think it’s the most horrible thing ever. The Eagles alienated some of their own players, a lot of agents and future potential employees, especially coaches.
You could reasonably argue that Tampa hiking ball 15 seconds early with clock running at end of 1st half cost Bucs the game. Steelers went down & scored TD with 6 seconds left that was difference in game. None of the broadcasters of game, or pundits this morning discussing this
Judge calls his behavior egregious, but then suspends him less time than Kendrick’s for insider trading and equal to Myles Garrett for hitting a player with his helmet during a game. How can that be right?
Media fell asleep on Chiefs the last four weeks. Have been talking like it’s Pats or Ravens from AFC. This morning they are back realizing that Chiefs May be best team in AFC.
Eagles last year.
Did a tremendous amount in the community
No one disrespected the flag
They won the Super Bowl
What exactly did they do wrong? Sounds worth celebrating!
Trade discussions going on around the league that would really excite people. We will see how many actually happen. I predict more action than we are used to seeing
Help me understand why media members speaking out against hate and fighting for social justice aren’t absolutely outraged by Desean Jackson’s comments. If you really care about stopping hate you should be outraged. Speak up!!!!!
Andrew Luck’s retirement after his brilliant 2018 season under Frank Reich is the most shocking NFL retirement since Barry Sanders _ although they apparently had different reasons for those decisions.
Has
@BubbaWallace
apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX? That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!
Surprised no one seems to truly realize how good Sean McDermott is. Worked with him for years and the job he has done in Buffalo is outstanding. My biggest mistake in Cleveland was not hiring him as our HC.
Hard to believe Eagles released Cox and didn’t put out a bunch of thanks and appreciation for his career, if they weren’t pretty confident he is coming back.
Carson Wentz on his vaccine status: “Trust me I have weighed a lot of things. I know what is at stake. It is just where I am at and where I am at with my family.”
Adds: “It is a fluid process. I am weighing every pro and con.”

I understand what league is trying to do, but to suggest that a player who goes on USO trips, goes to VA hospitals, Children’s hospitals, goes to schools and donates money is not a great patriot, and American is just not right. There were better ways to do this
Watched first drive on ESPN regular, and just switched to Manning’s. I’m sorry it’s not even close the quality of insights and info that makes the game more interesting is a big gap favoring the Manning’s.
Last week we had an analyst say that Lamar Jackson was making a mistake by not hiring an agent, and if he had he would already have a deal. Talk about a freezing cold take, hard to get much colder than that. Lamar is playing this a lot smarter then he is getting credit for.
I actually remember 5 championship games in 8 years, winning the division almost every year and drafting a ton of pro bowl players and some HOF’s. How did you do.
Nfl didn’t want two teams in LA, in fact they offered an extra $100,000,000 to Chargers to stay in SD. Chargers decided to pass on $100,000,000 and pay $500,000,000 fee to go. One of the worst decisions ever, but made by team against league wishes.
There is no way the Eagles used a 2nd pick to have their Taysom Hill. He has thrown 13 passes in 3 years and had about 60 carries. The more likely use would be what Lamar Jackson did for Ravens in his rookie year. I have my doubts but trust they have a plan and it is meaningful
A player threatens to punch out GM & there is no consequence 😮. If you know Gruden you aren’t surprised. If you know Mayock you are very surprised. Never was any question who the boss is. Tried to deny it during Mack mess last year. No matter what they say Mayock is not happy
I hate to tell all these teams hiring the next Mcvay for his offensive prowess two things. 1) Mcvay is a lot more than an offensive scheme guy 2) if you are trying to copy a scheme the Shanahan scheme is a better one to copy than the Mcvay one.
This is all just crazy.
Last year Hue fired his defensive staff. This year his offensive staff. Pretty soon there will be only one person left to blame. Who hired all these people
Browns confirm departure of: QB coach David Lee, ST Chris Tabor, RB coordinator Kirby Wilson, Shawn Mennenga, ST assist., & Stan Watson, ST quality control. Also confirm hiring of QB coach Ken Zampese & WR coach Adam Henry.
