@Pushkin_Street @EliotHiggins Twitter is easy to focus on because it’s a very open platform. As such scrutiny is easier (bad stuff is easier to find) and pretty intense even before, especially whenever changes are made. Also, it’s a key platform for the type of people that might want to scrutinise it.

@Pushkin_Street @EliotHiggins That you observe issues with the gold standard of community-powered factchecking perhaps shows how tricky it is. Hence why it can’t often be a singular solution.

@Pushkin_Street @EliotHiggins So many differences, 2 big ones: - Tweets are not canonical in the same way as wikipedia entries are (therefore the same misinfo has more places it can pop up - giving volunteers more work to do) - Wikipedia has a vast community that they raise money to support and train
