So I’ve been thinking about this thread for awhile here right. I don’t wanna come off as attacking, I just wanna educate here. 2D rigs have to be drawn first, so at a baseline it’s just not true. Despite the use of rigs, a ton of drawing goes into these shows-
What worries me about the rise of rigged 2D animation in major studio productions is that it’s training an entire generation to avoid drawing.
Personally, I would rather see an attempt at animating traditionally that has model errors than a perfectly on model buttery smooth rig.
