One of the biggest challenges to doing Big Team Science is measurement - how do we know if constructs exist across cultures and if so, how can we accurately translate items to measure them? We did a large scale investigation with the @PsySciAcc ! 1/๐งต

@PsychRabble I think Eric is thinking about how to move forward with it. I'm in the back seat.

@nicotrajtenberg I appreciate that but I'm also but I also think it is easier for me because I was a methods support co-author and it isn't my primary area of research. Though as methods support, I deserve any heat for wrong methods.

@benryanwriter I lived without insurance in the US for about a decade (pre Obama care), and living in Canada stresses me out similarly. It feels more like not having health care than having to wait for it. You need a serious ER emergency, otherwise access is very limited.

@AmandaKMontoya @dmcneish18 It is a bit crazy to me that our field is choosing that option at the highest rate. We know better. Shows that context/pressure/politics beats the evidence we know.

@SarahHammami3 @dmcneish18 I'm saying I see unfair and biased decision making each year as students with a GRE are compared to those without one.

@dmcneish18 faculty in quant areas generally want to keep it required but have been silenced by others members of their departments. However as disagreement grows I've seen departments move to an area approach and/or are actively rethinking, so now seems like a time of more consideration.

@dmcneish18 I view optional as the least valid use case (it is the policy I've lived under for years now and each year I see more evidence of that) but having the issue of being one of few schools that require it is a real concern.
