There's a tendency for students using perspective to start a drawing with vanishing points, randomly putting things in and hoping it works. In my latest lecture, I stressed the importance of starting with a well-staged focal point first, then finding the perspective to match it.

Jim Zub is a pen name. "Zubkavich" is my Ukranian family name. My great-grandparents came to Canada and never returned so I don't have deep ties to Ukraine, but it's part of my family history and gut-wrenching to think about the lives that will be lost for political maneuvering.

Manga does not bring in unknown writers. There's a massive cottage industry of self-published fan comic-doujinshi where writers + artists build up their skills and prove themselves. The audience there is larger so more indie creators can support themselves outside the mainstream.

That's not how #TheEternals looked in 1976. Modern reprints use colors that are WAY too saturated, giving the false impression that old comics were garish. The newsprint absorbed color, creating more subtlety and appeal even with bombastic Jack Kirby art. It read more like this
