@FCSNationRadio1 Schools seem to calculate their numbers differently, but anyway you look at it, this is a LOT of money being spent. Many of these large schools also have their own athletic foundations so they can absorb one-time losses. For the current year, they could be millions in the black

AMAZING!!!!! Ohio State’s athletic department reported an operating deficit of nearly $38 million during the recent fiscal year, according to an annual financial statement submitted to the NCAA. The department spent a record $292.7 million from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.

@s_akem18 This is never easy. When we asked to double the student athletic fees in 2010 to address campus Title IX requirements by starting women's softball, it was a challenging 2-year process of attending monthly ASUM meetings to get student support... which was required by the Regents.

@MaritsaGeorgiou My cousin has a home in that area and they were forced to evacuate two days ago. They are still unsure if the house survived or not. It's a very stressful situation!!!! Prayers go out to all impacted by this tragedy!!!!!!

@mtgrizrule Good question. Guess we'll see when schools announce if they are going to fund this expense as it would have to show up in their budgets, which are public at state-supported institutions.
