Accelerating the Future of Oncology Drug Development: The Role of Consortia in the Delivery of Precision Oncology Early Phase Clinical Trials The landscape of early phase clinical trials (EPCTs) has expanded dramatically over the past 15 years, with a significant increase in sites, trials, sponsors, and contract research organizations. Despite this growth, inefficiencies in trial operations, especially in patient enrollment and start-up processes, pose challenges. Networks and consortia may help address these issues by improving recruitment and streamlining processes. This article provides an overview of 15 EPCT consortia across various regions, including the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific, highlighting their structures, funding models, and achievements.
