Hi! I’m going to start using my birth name/Korean name professionally now — Ji Min! It’s pronounced “g-min.” I was so hesitant to make the change because it would be “so confusing” but I love my name, it’s what my parents call me and it’s me! 💃🏻
#callmeJiMin
my junior year of college, a recruiter told me that i wouldn't work in political journalism. i didn't "have the right connections."
today i walked out of the cnn building after a very productive & rewarding workday.
✨and that's called not lettin' the haters get to ya✨
A belated update. It’s been about three months since I quit my job as a breaking news editor at CNN Politics. Since then, I moved up permanently to our home in Vermont and have been spending my time outdoors, gardening and training our sweet (but wild) jack russell puppy, Eddy.
Good morning! Yesterday was my first day back at
@CNN
as an

AP for digital explanatory work. I am excited and grateful to join this fantastic team! 🎉
I was nervous about all the time I'd have after quitting and worried about "finding what's next." It turns out, doing nothing can be very fulfilling in its own right.
Wishing you all the best and a very happy summer!

Nancy Pelosi: 'I want women to see that you do not get pushed around'
Happy Independence Day!! Four years ago, I proudly took an oath to be a US citizen. I'm so thankful and proud to be an American. Thank you to my hard-working parents who moved here -- they have certainly achieved the American dream while raising me and my little sister! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I am so grateful to so many wonderful colleagues at CNN and the community I built back in Washington. I am not sure what is “next” for myself but for now, I am enjoying all the time I am spending with family!
A recruiter once told me that I would never be able to work in political journalism since I “didn’t have the right connections” in DC.
I didn’t “succeed” out of spite, but this just tells you that things are possible with hard work, luck and timing. Oh also, just be kind. ❤️
Today is my last day at CNN Politics. I am thankful to so many people who patiently taught me, graciously mentored me and gave me the many opportunities throughout the past three years. It has been a dream and a pleasure working with so many brilliant people.
Thank you.
Her father immigrated to the US in 1982. He calls Chloe his "American dream." In an interview with The New York Times, Chloe talks about how she can easily balance being both "Korean" and "American." She's right — it's a privilege!

Eleanor Holmes Norton’s great-grandfather was a runaway slave who escaped a Virginia plantation and found work building DC.
Now, his great-granddaughter represents the city on Capitol Hill as Washington, DC’s delegate.

"I think obsequious and subservience was a job requirement in order to thrive there for many women in particular,"
@katiecouric
said.
"Sucking up to the boss?"
@brianstelter
asked.
"Pretty much, yeah."
In her most pointed comments to date about allegations of harassment at CBS, Katie Couric said reports about the network's culture ring true.
"The culture I found at '60 Minutes' personally was very challenging and at times quite offensive," she said.
Just now:

CNN: "Just because the White House is uncomfortable with a question regarding the news of day doesn't mean the question isn't relevant and shouldn't be asked .... This decision to bar a member of the press is retaliatory in nature and not indicative of an open and free press."
Hi everyone -- I’ve got some personal news. I'm excited to announce that I’ve accepted a journalism Fulbright and will be participating in the Berlin Capital Program in September! 🇺🇸🇩🇪
Happy 4th of July, y'all! It has been 3⃣ fantastic years since I proudly took an oath to be a US citizen, and I'm so thankful and proud to be an American. A special shout to my hard-working parents who moved here in 1999, determined to live the American dream. 🇺🇸❤️💙
My female colleagues went into the "news business" because we are passionate about story-telling and we are curious about the world around us. When I was a 10 year old girl dreaming about being a reporter, I was NEVER told it was a "flirty business." This is not ok.
Sad about

1. I have been reading about taxes all day so this was very funny.

It happened,

Thank you Mary from the Detroit Marriott for being so kind and showing me where the closest McDonalds was located. She walked me to it because I was so lost. People are so nice!!!
The best piece of advice I got was from a recruiter when I was interviewing for my first job straight out of college. I think she could tell I was nervous and confused for what was to come.
She sent me an email that said this, and I think about it a lot.
I’ve tweeted this before but I’ll do it again but man have I told y’all how cool it is to work on a team comprised of (JUST. BY. CHANCE) ALL WOMEN? Love my webteam at

In grade school, we had "D.E.A.R Week" -- "Drop Everything And Read" -- where we got to come to school in our pajamas and literally read books all day.
WHY IS THIS NOT A THING IN ADULTHOOD.
The last time I was at the CNN Center in Atlanta was when I was in 8th grade and taking a tour of the center with my family!
Hard to believe that I’m here covering a

I totally get some people's comments about Michelle Obama's portrait. Trust me, sometimes the artist doesn't do justice.
For instance, this portrait of me, by my little sister Juju (about 10 years ago).
From CNN's
@brianstelter
:
Megyn Kelly and NBC News executives are negotiating the terms of her departure from the news division.
Given Kelly's hugely valuable contract -- said to be worth $23 million a year for three years -- the stakes are high.
My little sister — who has been staying with me — said that I am a “chronic sleep talker.”
“Yeah that looks good. We should tweet that out. Did you tweet that?” - sleep talking Ji Min last night

Today marks President Trump’s first year in office.
@ijjtseng
and I put together an Instagram Story on CNN Politics to mark the occasion. | Watch before it’s gone:
To all of yall that thought I was just "SO CRAZY!!!!" and told me "Oh you just hate it because you haven't gone to a good place!!!!" or "OK well we are brunching the right way and you'll lahveeeee it!!" --- SEE BELOW. I hate brunch, always have & always will. Deal with it.
I’m in the mood for a ratio tweet, here we go....I hate the word brunch, I hate the idea of brunch, I hate “bottomless mimosas,” I hate the idea that people have to stand outside with their friends for 30 mins to have brunch...just call it breakfast or lunch depending on the time
So
@alicetweet
walked with me (total distance of maybe a 30 second walk) to get to our uber ride/driver at the end of the night and said "power in numbers!" I don't know why, but after a pretty sucky news day, the sweet gesture warmed my heart. Thanks, Alice! ❤️

Yes, I had to postpone my April 25th (the perfect date!!) wedding. Yes, I was holding out hope. Yes, I saw CDC recommendations change everyday. Yes, I cried a lot.
But.
It was the right decision.
Haha at those "You gotta call your mom on *MOTHER'S DAY*" things I've been seeing.
I call my mom literally everyday, multiple times, for anything/everything to the point that I think she thinks I have no friends. 🤷🏻♀️
