@JFreshHockey The value of having good amateur scouting isn't just shown at the draft. Some of the draft-year players you liked but couldnt get end up being available a few years down the road.

@CoachCarl2222 Potentially, but in the hybrid the strong side D and F apply man on man pressure as the puck is moved up, which can cause turnovers.

As a coach you can: 1) Make sure your team keeps the play up-ice, which is never foulproof 2) Increase their success rates WITH the puck off the retrieval, which is also never foulproof 3) Have players flip the puck out, but as a last resort because it doesnt solve anything

"Go between" or "go behind" are two key phrases when trying to break down a zone defense, whether in-zone or in transition.

@filipsobotka doesnt mean a player wont have a long or successful career. But it is a red flag.

@filipsobotka It's less what's said than how it's said, or what's unsaid. From my perspective, there were some instances where it felt to me that the player either didnt like hockey or didnt want to do pro hockey.
