The greatest existential threat we face isnβt war or economic collapseβitβs our own inability to solve the crises weβve created. AI is about to change that. A thread on why artificial intelligence is humanityβs greatest hope. π§΅π
So, GPT-5 confirmed. We already knew it would be another order of magnitude smarter than use. But what I'm really noticing is this diversification of modalities and model types. Reasoning, foundation models, and so on. This is like when the radio was first invented. Not long after, the radio wasn't just audio, but also video. Now we have digital radios aka WiFi, 4G, and Starlink. Still the same fundamental technology, but more sophisticated. We're seeing the same thing happening to AI, but instead of decades, it's happening in months and years.

@DominicCardy This path would undoubtedly fan the flames of anti-Canadian sentiment in the US. They are still our cousins and the majority are on our side. Kill them with kindness & if Trump imposes tariffs, reciprocate and let the American people judge his business acumen from the fallout.

@PeteButtigieg Iβm willing to bet my life savings we will soon see either some sort of crisis, catastrophe or βterroristβ attack that the Trump admin will leverage for βemergency controlβ. Thatβll be the culmination of this revolution and the beginning of the millennial crisis.

@The_AI_Investor The way America is headed it would seem that we may enter a future run by corporations and not government. If such a future materialized, Iβd have to put my faith in Nvidia.

@dmacpher He has redeemed himself in my view this last while though and I wouldnβt hold it against him forever. Iβm hoping he learned some valuable lessons and frankly I would vote for him if it was the case.

@Liz_Cheney @JDVance Also, last time I checked, judges and lawyers absolutely advise Generals on what they can and cannot lawfully do on operations.

Judges and lawyers literally advise Generals on what they can and cannot lawfully do during a military operation.
π¨VANCE: JUDGES CANβT CONTROL THE EXECUTIVE BRANCHβITβS ILLEGAL βIf a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal. If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that's also illegal. Judges aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power.β Source: X

@NicholasTyrone βYou shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God.β - Exodus 20:3-5

@steeplymast @David_Moscrop And if the US were to enter conflict with China you can absolutely bet they would be seeking help from their allies.

@nullobject5 @David_Moscrop What an insane comment. Our history and population are intertwined. We may have turbulent times but we absolutely must remain allies - for our mutual gain, peace and prosperity.
