From 2002-06, I had a research job that partly based at Rikers, adolescent unit. A significant % of the young guys (15-19yo) were locked up for FARE EVASION, then an inability to afford cash bail.
MAKE THE MTA FREE.
CLOSE RIKERS.
ABOLISH THE NYPD.
He didn’t even jump the turnstile. Per NYPD, he walked through the emergency exit.
According to his mom, he carries a pocket knife because he’s a chef who works at different spots around the city.
NYPD tried to execute him for $2.90.
