Welcome to the world, Rupert Henrik Kan Kellgren-Fozard. Born June 4th 2021, 10:09am, weighing 7lbs and bringing more joy to our hearts than we could have thought possible. You are utterly and completely loved and always will be ♥️♥️♥️
@emilylinka
To the right person, you using a wheelchair is not something that they have to overlook, it’s something that they are thankful is around to help you ♥️

Follow up question: is it morally right to know we can reduce rates of teen suicides by helping young people grow up accepting themselves and yet NOT do anything about it?
Only 4 British Sign Language interpreters in the UK are specialists in Grime. Tara Asher signed Stormzy’s Glasto set for deaf festival goers.
She rehearsed each song for a day. This is joyous. She LOVES her job. Have a watch please.

Rupert is 1 month old and thus finally big enough to fit into the ‘going home from the hospital’ newborn outfit I bought for our future baby two and a half years ago… because apparently I didn’t factor in that my wife is a small person who would make a small baby 😅♥️
I used to have terrible insomnia as a child (~4 hrs sleep a night)
But last night slept through both dogs breaking into our bedroom and vomiting everywhere and then my wife angrily cleaning/vacuuming the entire room.
Going deaf is one of the best things to ever happen to me!
@BBCNews
The producers asked me to be part of this documentary and I said a VERY firm 'no' and that I did not agree with the concept... but they used my image anyway.
This topic is presented irresponsibly as it is.
Why does ‘special assistance’ in airports so often mean they wheel you to a corner and then leave you there for 45 mins before rushing you to the gate?
Shocker: disabled people also enjoy duty free shopping and not feeling like an unwanted package.

! Full permission granted for you to gush about your girlfriends/wives/special ladies or about your wonderful wlw self on this thread! I’ll start! ❤️
That moment when you’ve been lying in bed all day with a migraine, feeling like a useless lump but your wife arrives home with “grab one of your most princess-y dresses, I’m going to take pictures of you out in the sunset until you feel amazing!”... Worked like a charm 👌
I get so upset when disabled people bash other disabled people for things like needing straws.
Why does you not personally using something mean it’s unnecessary for everyone else...? You’re not the centre of the universe.
So grateful to have had my first vaccination against covid this weekend! 🙏
Living with chronic health conditions I’ve found this past year to be incredibly scary and I’m so happy to have this first step on the path to safety. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers and staff!
My wife: I want to buy you something fancy for Christmas...
Me: oh my god, can I have the The Avengers Assembled complete boxset???
My horrified wife: That’s NOT fancy!
😭😭😭
New Audiology Clinic: "We don't book sign language interpreters for people who wear hearing aids or lipread because they're expensive."
😳😳😳
Because vaguely understanding when my wife is talking about dinner is EXACTLY the same as being able to get complex medical terms...
Princesses are powerful and representation is important 🌟
I grew up without a disabled role model, unable to see myself in media or a positive storyline that I could believe in.
We deserve better: fun characters with exciting storylines, who just happen to have a disability!
Thanks so much to all of the amazing lovely people who came up and said hello to us at
#BrightonPride
today- you really made my Pride special and I hope you all had a wonderful day ✨
Dear brands,
I am not a free accessibility consultant. That is an actual job you need to pay people to do.
Dear accessibility consultants,
Please promote yourselves below so I can send your details to said brands.
Thank you x
Before I met you, I knew academically that my worth is not measured by my productivity... but you’re the one who made me truly feel it. Despite my chronic illness, pain and fatigue, I never feel less than a full half in this marriage ♥️
Dear autistic friends, I'm writing a video about autism tropes in media. What are some good representations and what are some bad ones in your opinion...?
Merch companies who have bought up boxes of hand sanitiser and are now trying to get influencers to brand them so they can be sold at an inflated price to panicked young people are the worst kind of capitalism.
Please human better.
Well that escalated quickly! 🏥 Thank you to all of the terrific NHS staff who have been looking after me for the last 24 hours whilst trying to work out what is going on with my back injury and leg palsy.

I went to the GP today and it was the best doctor appointment I’ve had in YEARS! 😮 He was so incredibly helpful, upped my migraine meds to what I actually need and refered me to physio for my jaw, then as I was about to leave said “do you want a flu jab while you’re here?” ♥️
People with learning disabilities aren't given a 'therapeutic exemption' for rent, bills and groceries so PLEASE explain how an exemption to paying the minimum wage is a good idea 😠
😱 *pretends to be shocked*
Yep, this is Tory candidate Sally Ann Heart just casually admitting to the view that disabled people should be paid less because they don't understand money.
Share the sh💩t out of this.

I’m making a series called ‘Queer History 101’ to fill in the blanks of things we don’t get taught at school 🏳️🌈
What would you want to be included...?
Here’s the series so far:
My wife: let’s go for a hike! I love them.
Me: I’m only up for a walk around a park and on the flat paths… I will wear my walking shoes though!
Accepting and adapting to your limitations will be hard and will involve days of grieving… but it will strengthen your heart ♥️
Some days I think ‘ha, what cognitive problems?!’ and other days I accidentally write ‘I hate cheese’ 5 times then cry in frustration because I can’t remember what I was trying to write in the first place...
One day I want to make a kids' cartoon show about a tomboy princess and a deaf princess who fall in love and go on adventures but don't wait around for anyone to come rescue them: just get themselves into and out of all sorts of exciting trouble!
...potentially based on life 😉
Please enjoy these outtakes of our attempt at cute autumnal photos with a four-and-a-half-month-old from when we happened to walk past a nice display and had three minutes to blow raspberries and pull silly faces! 😂🍁🍂
Today's new video is being pushed to next week as I bashed my head yesterday and am still a bit dizzy. Please enjoy this photo of my wife and baby twinning in their lovely cardigans to make up for it 🥰😍
Disabled people are twice as likely to experience domestic abuse and this is part of the reason why.
The government makes vulnerable people financially dependent on others and thus cuts off their independence and, more importantly, their exit route.
Fingers crossed but we might actually be getting a movie that deals with the lasting psychological trauma of being very physically ill... with humour! (My favourite way to deal with anything) 🤞
A reminder that when you say ‘ONLY ill people will die from

or ‘it’s JUST killing sick people’, that you’re talking about people like me and we’re human beings, who have just as much right to be on this earth 🤷♀️
People send me this picture all the time- because CLEARLY if my marriage was illustrated this would be it- but here is the original artist so please go show them some love!

Having a body that is unable to regulate its temperature sucks: two days after our record breaking heatwave broke and despite the temperature being back to normal I’m still oscillating wildly between boiling-hot-want-to-bathe-in-ice and what-do-you-mean-it’s-not-jumper-weather
Goodness! 2021 is already turning out to be quite the year!
Thank you so much to all of you, new subscribers and those who have been with me from the beginning, for your support. It means the world to me 💖
SURPRISE, we are back today! 👩👩👦
Rupert was so excited to show you his room that he fell asleep right at the beginning but that didn't stop him from making all the noises 👶

Today is International Women's Day! We all know a woman who has inspired us in our lives and today is the day we should celebrate how far we've come and still have yet to go in reaching gender equality for those women. Who are you thankful to know this

Masks can be 2020’s stylish new accessory AND help save lives ✨ If you find wearing a mask uncomfortable (especially true if you’re a hearing aid wearer and the mask straps make them flick out!) try sewing buttons onto a headband 👌
I actually left the house!
Please enjoy these pictures of a hugely excited gal getting some fresh air for the first time in weeks! I was a little nervous and it jiggled my back a bit but it was very exciting to be 100 meters away from my house 😁☀️

For many people with disabilities, like myself, plastic straws are vitally important.
Alternatives (paper, metal, silicone) all have hazards.
It’s great that people who don’t need straws are cutting down on them but they still need to be available for others.
