🚨 Rome's Villains or Victims of Propaganda? ⚔️ Imagine if history was written by Trump or Biden's most ardent opponents. That's sort of what happened with Rome's "worst" emperors. Nero, Caligula, Commodus - were they really tyrants, or just painted so by the Senate's pen?

That’s an important point. The verbiage of the emancipation proclamation is interesting (not saying slavery is right, it’s not) but the wording in the document is interesting, like it was an afterthought. It frees slaves in states under rebellion, and Lincoln lists ten states, but those states didn’t recognize his authority.
