So, I would like to share why I've been off here for a while. 6 weeks ago I very suddenly lost my partner. The grief is unimaginable. He meant the world to me. This journey is tough and scary.
I have lots of support but it's important to share. Much love x
10 weeks since I lost the love of my life
I get up and go to work
I drink too much to numb the pain
I miss my friends but don't want to talk to anyone
I don't care what happens next
I've never felt so loved but never felt so alone
This has been the hardest year of my life. Losing my soul mate has broken me but I am blessed for all the support I've had - friends, colleagues and people I've never met...you have all kept me going and I thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤
Was faced with the worst decision yesterday to either put Daisy to sleep or try some medication. I opted for the latter and here she is this morning purring away and feeling much better. We haven't got long together but they'll be the best days she can have ❤
So funny to see the England squad messing around with a couple of rubber chickens in training...
I think that's the difference with this team...they don't take themselves too seriously

Good news peeps! It seems the "lesser spotted panic buyer" is NOT an early riser! In and out of Sainsbury's in 15 minutes flat with everything I needed! 👊
I can't tell a lie, today has been tough...
But I'm so proud of the wonderful people I work with who have been totally professional and gone above and beyond
Now I can sit and reflect and be so in awe of our amazing Queen...who gave her entire life to serve us.
What a woman❤
The snaking queues outside supermarkets are back...I took one look and thought I just can't do this again. Then burst into tears.
For everyone in Tier 4 - sending a hug xx
My beautiful Daisy's kidneys are starting to fail. She's now on a special diet and I'm hoping she will continue to live her best life. She was a

and it's taken a lot of love & care to get to the point where she'll hang out with me but worth it
Today is

I feel so lucky to be working in radio...I wanted to be on air since I was a little girl & I'm blessed to do a job I love in, what I believe, is the best medium of them all!
Meanwhile over on BookFace:

So, there's one bird in our yoga class who just loves to show off. Every class she just can't wait to do a hand stand but this morning was priceless. Off she goes in her hand stand & both her baps pop out (including her Harvey Nichols) & she hadn't a clue! On show for 5 mins!🤣
I have tomorrow off again while waiting for voice to recover. Really hoping to be back on Monday...aside from being croaky, I feel ok. Send lots of positive vibes please (I bloomin need them!!)
Is it bad that I bought my neighbour some chocolates for Xmas which I haven't given her yet so have decided to eat them?
PS: I will buy some more....honest guv!
PPS: they're bloomin yummy!
It has taken me around 24 hours to finally get my 73 year old mum to understand why going walking with her friends is not an option. Or going to the paper shop. Or going to the post office. Finally she gets it.

It's 0730 and I've had a five hour lie-in!
Now having coffee and toast in bed.
When you get up at 0230 five days a week this really is a treat!

Sometimes there are people who, despite working an early shift, will come back to work to finish your shift when you're poorly.
@JamesNeish
is one of these people and I thank him from the bottom of my heart ❤
Every BBC boss who made the decision to destroy
#bbclocalradio
should be ashamed of themselves.
My heart goes out to all my former colleagues and their listeners who've been treated so badly 😢
Another piece of BBC local radio dies. Well done all involved in this whole tortuous, damaging and unnecessary process.
You could’ve made a real difference by handling it all decently. I hope you can sleep well at night. Though I suspect the arrogance and pension helps...
And my long weekend starts NOW!
First thing I have to do is decide who to have in my support bubble?
a) mum
b) best bird mate
c) friend with benefits
Hmmmmmm 😂
So, I've been let loose again on
@TimesRadio
's early breakfast show in the morning, standing for
@CalumAM
We'll be talking zoos reopening and the start of Ramadan. See you at 5am 🙂
Today was very tough and then you get a story about a man who turns 100 years old, is made an honorary colonel and honorary member of the England cricket team, gets 140,000 cards and raises £30M for the NHS and it makes you smile
