I saw someone say they always wanted to be a daddy’s girl. To be cared for and loved well. Her dad was present but was only a provider. I can relate, with the exception that my dad inflicted a lot of trauma for our family.

2022 has been hell but also…
1. Got my LCSW
2. Became a supervisor.
3. Making strides in therapy. Now I am a recovering Perfectionist 😉
4. Squatting my heaviest 135 and consistently working out since 2020
5. Making boundaries with myself and others.

Stuff like this is what keeps the stigma on mental health. It's ok to have a preference but this all-or-nothing thinking is not it. My clients are making a lot of progress via telehealth. Do better.

As a therapist and mom I try to really be locked in to my kids needs. We allow them mental health days. Today kid 2 is staying home and hanging w me. I love that I can not just say things but model what healthy looks like also. Kids matter.

With gentle parenting, mental health, education, and for some access to more, gone are the days to just accept toxic behavior bc of shared blood. People want to be free, have peace, and if family isn’t doing it, ✂️off! No longer repeating those cycles,

Growing up we couldn’t afford Costco. I think it’s why it’s my favorite store. Bc of the instability in my childhood, I have 2 fridges, and a deep freezer just in case 🥹🥹🥹I’m grateful my kids know something else.

Not me having 8 back to back sessions today 🥴 it’s bc. I was sick last week and I had to squeeze clients in. Went to the gym and got my Starbucks. Im abt to pray then play some upbeat music to set the tone for the day. Y’all pray for me 😭

So that their children will have more. My oldest is LGTQIA and there have been people in the past that have said stuff. But I’m not going for it especially for my kids ‼️ when you know better you do better. Things are changing. Hopefully for the good.

Scheduling a mental health day every quarter and I love that for me. Also decided next year I will have to reduce my hours. I can't do 7-8 back-to-back sessions everyday anymore.
