Attn: Arkansas sports fans, legislators, and press: This Wednesday a bill will run in House Rules that purports to help NIL. In reality, it is an attempt to shut the door on meaningful NIL 50-50 drawings. The bill would allow for NIL drawings like at Kentucky. Kentucky recently raised a whopping $2600 in their UK/UA game. That will not fix NIL. This bill is a wolf in sheep's clothing. We need help with NIL, but this bill, while having a good goal will cripple our ability to do it right. HB1044 is bad for NIL.
