Just back from diabetic doctor appointment - Since Feb. 27, I've lost 36 pounds, and my A1c blood sugar number is 6.2 . the lowest in 20 years. Feeling good.

Not a fan of online ticketing for high school events. Not everyone knows how to do that. Having someone sell tickets and take your cash at the door worked for years and years and years. No reason to get rid of that. Carry on ….

Hospital update . Doing really well; all docs are very pleased, and I passed a key test Saturday. Waiting on one blood-test result (which docs feel very confident about) and if that goes well, I should be home Monday. Excellent care at LGH. Amazing docs/nurses.

Very sad to say that my dad is in a coma, fighting for his life. Those are words you never think you’ll type. Not a good day. Keep him and us in your thoughts, especially our Columbia friends.

Some good news … NO surgery needed, which is a relief. Just a lot of antibiotics and IV drips. Hope to be out of the hospital on Saturday. Not totally out of the woods. Still a lot of healing time ahead. But no surgery was fantastic news for sure. Very relieved.

Dad update - Today is his 72nd birthday. Sadly, he’s reached an end of life stage, so we’re here with him. It is comforting knowing he feels no pain. This will be an incredibly difficult day. I thank you again for the thoughts and well wishes. Our family appreciates it.

Dad update: Just saw doctor. He’s encouraged. Still in medically induced coma but he responded to some simple commands and his kidneys are functioning. No further tests today. Said this will be a long process. Thankfully he’s still with us.
