I'm finally watching the new season of
#KidsInTheHall
and it is as majestic as you can imagine. Every shot is fantastic. I'm 40 and I've loved this show since I was 12-13,and this new season is everything I could have hoped for. It's beautiful, hilarious, scary and genius.
@JasonSCampbell
They don't have to because they talk about their significant others and spouses at ease. As they should.
If a teacher is a lesbian and wants to mention her wife, it's all of a sudden "grooming".
People like Walsh are gross and obsessed.
I can't stop thinking about the new
@KITHOnline
episodes. I realized how much this show meant to me, as a queer kid growing up in Nebraska, in the 90's. It wasn't just the most inclusive show,it was the most sincere. I could never thank them enough for their influence in my life.
I watched every Knicks game, preseason-postseason this year. Besides the game itself, the coaching, and the players, the one thing I thought about all season, expressed using a meme.
@KnickFilmSkool
Congratulations to
@scharpling
for being true to his convictions.
All
@bestshow4life
episodes have been removed from Spotify.
Some people play pseudo-intellectual by attempting the most trite version of centrist devils advocate. Not Tom, he's a man of action.
As soon as a person tells themselves that LGBTQ people are "Lucifer", then that person will hurt those people with ease, because to them, they are fighting "Lucifer",as opposed to violating civil rights or discrimating against people. Which btw, he's done both
We've definitely had Governors who thought like this, but we've never had one who talked like this.
@jim_pillen
says gender affirming care is "Lucifer at it's finest."
The rhetoric & division we have been able to keep out of Nebraska is really here.
I encourage all Nebraskans who are crying tears of happiness to write Senator Riepe an email of support.
He's going to get hate mail. Let's take a moment to balance it out with sincere thank yous.

I've been watching more
#NEleg
this year than I think I ever have. And it pains me that
@senatorblood
didn't get a chance to be our Governor.
She's amazing.
@KETV
Ahhh boo hoo, people are mad because I took fundamental rights from them. Why are they mad that I made it my priority to hurt people?
Why are people mad because I lied to pass legislation I know next to nothing about? How could this very avoidable situation been avoided?
NEW: Justice Brett Kavanaugh had to exit through the rear of Morton's on Wednesday night after DC protestors showed up out front. A Morton's rep told me: "Politics … should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner."
RIP Dave Vinson
May his memory be a blessing.
I'm happy I have over 20 playlists he made just for me. I loved chatting with Dave. He was a one of a kind person and he was my friend. He was so kind to me. I really appreciated him and I'm so sad he's gone
@ErinInTheMorn
Trans Nebraskan here,
@senatormachaela
has really stepped up this week. This new Governor's administration has started to discriminate against Trans adults at State agencies, so it's imperative we have fighters like this for Trans youth, and Trans people in general.
@SenatorGeist
We don't want you.
Lincoln is one of the most queer friendly places in Nebraska, and your votes prove you hate us.
Take all your billboards and outside money and go away.
Often times, the worst, or most controversial politicians get the most press.
I'd like to give some love to my favorite state senator,
@senatorblood
She does a fantastic job, speaks up for thise who need it, and she has impeccable musical tastes.
Give her a follow!
@timheidecker
It might not be the popular opinion, but throwing poop at/projecting poop onto people like this, I'd like to see that. Some kind of poop cannon of some sort would be good. Not with the goal to hurt them of course, just to cover them in poop.
This weeks
@blankcheckpod
is truly great.
@ThatKevinSmith
gives these amazingly touching stories of producer Jim Jacks,that easily become the highlight of the episode. From the hilarious "Like, ya know" story, to tales of him championing directors. A beautiful gem of an episode.
@NebraskaMegan
I refuse to step foot in there, I hope the staff consider going elsewhere.
You can't vote to take people's rights away and expect them to love you. This isn't separating art from artist, this is an abuser expecting to be loved despite their abuse. No thanks. I'll shop elsewhere.
@LadyBeatrice45
@Jason_Aldean
This is literally just shitty modern pop, with a few "country" elements added,and trite lyrics thrown on top. It's as generic as can be.
Rap also often has far better,and more interesting imo,production than this song does.
Hate, loses.
Nebraska isn't perfect, far from it.
But the Nebraska I knew growing up, as conservative as it is, was never about outward hatred, or catering to extremists like Senator Kauth or Governor Pillen. Huge win against them today, and real NE values.
@Freeyourmindkid
Today, 90% likely Weird Al victory.
Now, if this challenge was in like 2005, I think Jay-Z would have the edge. Hard to say though, Weird Al is pretty talented, he'd whip out his accordion and then how does Jay-Z respond to that?
I love the
@bestshow4life
because it's a blank canvas going into every Tuesday night.
@scharpling
makes art every week and that's the fun. It's always changing. It always has. Those who complain miss the point entirely. Like what you like, but trust Tom, let him cook.
I'm happy to announce that my internship with the state of Nebraska has come to a close.
I interviewed for a full time position yesterday.
Just got the call from HR,
I'M HIRED!!!!!
@Esqueer_
Angry Gen-Xer & Boomers want to claim credit for other people's work, and throw others under the bus while also using similar rhetoric used against the movement for decades.
Just a hot mess.
@DayneShaul18324
@AndrewS76825037
No Rabbi believes that, because it's pretty obvious it's about the people Israel. I'd ask Christians if they bothered to read the rest of Isaiah. Even 50-52.
Context matters, when you cherry pick, you remove important Context.
Hi
@breyyyattt
, small request. When the video goes up, can you throw an "mhmm" counter on the bottom right corner of the screen. And have it count the "mhmm"s from Tom from the time Kassir crosses the line, until Kassir is done. Pretty please, it would be hilarious.
Senators, The Bible disagrees with Erdman on abortion.
Exodus 21:22
Please ask Senator Deboer to point this out.
574 also violates religious freedom of Jews in Nebraska
Life begins at first breath, is the Jewish understanding of Genesis 2:7

Slaughterhouse Five?
Go Ask Alice?
Held for review, for high school?
Who do these people think they are?
Censorship under the guise of "protecting children" is a scurge on society.
These puritans should be ashamed.
So nice to meet
@George4NE
at Pride this weekend. He was so nice, he took a picture with my good friend Ginger.
I really appreciate that our
#15Strong
senators don't just talk the talk, they walk the walk.
Thank you senators, you are our heroes.
#neleg
Linehan asks for help right away.
"Not good at filibustering bills" she says.
Give yourself more credit Linehan, you aren't good at writing bills either.
#neleg
@emfundertaker
Her businesses should to be boycotted, her home should be protested at.
This person is actively ignoring everyone but the Governor, and that's not what she was elected to do.
I can confirm this. I didn't listen live, but I'm listening now and wow, it is worth waiting for. It sounds amazing, and most importantly
@scharpling
is controlling the board again. The new theme is perfect. The Best Show is dead.
Long live the Best Show!!!
#newEra
Just as a heads up, the show will come out as a podcast a little later on Wednesday’s now. There’s a lot more production work that requires that time! BUT IT’S WORTH IT!
If we made it legal for kids to kill their bullies, a lot of problems would go away.
We'd create new problems, sure. But how could those new problems be worse?
This is a thought experiment, not a recommendation.
@PaulHammelNE
@NebraskaMegan
@SenatorGeist
@CityOfLincoln
Exhibit D. On why Geist is laughably unfit to be a Mayor and ridiculously unprepared to be a leader.
Exhibit A-C is audacity to think a Queer city like Lincoln would want her Mayor, after she voted for bills that would hurt LGBTQ+ people in Lincoln
@TheRaDR
I feel as though, no matter what the subject is, the more I study something, the more I know that I don't know very much about it. The more I learn, the more I see there's more to learn.
Well. I honestly never thought I'd say this. I am done with college!! In a matter of a few months I will be sent a AAS degree that I earned in a little over 2 years. Sure, it's no masters or bachelors, but it's a huge achievement for me, and I can hardly believe it.
@daveweigel
Just because you work for them, doesn't mean you have to promote garbage from other writers, Dave. 7 month old polls that can only do harm isn't news or newsworthy. This sucks Dave, you know better.
I subscribe to this substack and it really makes my week. I study the Torah parshat every week, and the Rabbi's substack adds so much dimension, joy, and perspective to these texts. I highly recommend subscribing to Life is a Sacred Text.
Just a reminder that this is a thing for *checks watch* anther two days.
More on your favorite expansive, loving, everybody-celebrating, nobody-diminished, justice-centered voyage into one of the world’s most ancient and holy books in the next tweet.
@jr_bohl
@jbouie
The person invited to speak at the college, is practicing free speech.
The people protesting him are also practicing free speech.
It's the furthest thing from fascist actually.
Hearing
@julieklausner
start crying on today's
@DoubleThreatPod
made me start crying so hard at work lol. Of course, it was back to laughs minutes later, but it says alot about how connected we all are in matters of grief. It was a real moment that I appreciated.
I can honestly say I've never experienced so much excitement and anticipation for a book to come out in my entire life. My copy of
"It Never Ends" by Tom
@scharpling
arrived today! Get yours at or wherever you buy books. Get the audio book too.
@damnrayscool
@NebraskaMegan
He should ask his daughter how she wants him to vote,how her trans girlfriend wants him to vote
I bet he hasn't asked them.
@NebraskaMegan
We are boring "regular" people.
We are parents.
We work at normal jobs doing normal tasks. If we hadn't become fodder for culture wars,we would be unnoticed by most.
We just want to live our lives, raise our kids.
We are just as religious, if not more,than those who hate us.
While everyone else is talking trades this off-season. My goal will be to get
@joshhart
into Prog Rock. Please help if you so choose.
The NBA needs more weirdos, and in the spirit of Sherman Hemsley,I am spreading the seeds of Prog.
When asked what she likes to shop for, Twain replied "Well, you know every time I go to a music store, I just have ta pick up a copy of Trout Mask Replica. Kinda like Mark David Chapman with Catcher in the Rye. I lost count of how many copies of Trout Mask I have, it's a lot."
The day so many prayed for is here. HB1510 is law and Roe v. Wade is no more. With love for children and the women who bear them, we move forward to secure strong and lasting legal protections and cultural support for life, and a vibrant network of abortion alternatives. 1/3
I love it when
@bestshow4life
topic material happens. There was a line of cars behind me lol, and 4-5 more geese approaching to cross far to my left. These guys crossed back and forth twice like they were doing it on purpose. The best.
#GeeseCrossingTheStreet
@scharpling
To anyone listening to this week's
@DoubleThreatPod
classic.
I was the one who said Shabbat Shalom in the chat to Leatherface,that he responded to. One of my proudest moments during a DT live stream.
At least when
@senatormachaela
does a filibuster, it's to help people, and we got to hear things about baking and hula hooping.
I don't blame
#neleg
for walking around and ignoring whatever Slama is blathering on about.
@PaulHammelNE
@Erdman4You
I would ask Erdman to reread Exodus 21:22.
If a miscarriage is caused by another person, the biblical law says nothing about applying murder charges, only financial compensation.
I watched Caberet for the first time ever tonight. I loved it. Liza was everything and more, it was a fantastic story, and easily my favorite of the Fosse films I've seen.
cc
@julieklausner
Can confirm.
Life has become scary in the last year,2 years as the steady drumbeat of anti trans rhetoric has gotten louder. There's barely any of us, leave us alone.
Yay! The books I bought myself for my 40th birthday keep arriving!
I'm excited to read this new arrival by
@TheRaDR
about parenting and the relationships you have with your children while doing so. Pumped for this.
Hi
@julieklausner
, I just wanted to tell you that I really loved the audio version of your first book. I even hunted down a physical copy.
I've had a very awful, sad week, and your book, and
@DoubleThreatPod
, helped me feel a bit better when I was very sad and needed it. Ty❤
Oh
@julieklausner
, I almost forgot you asked for screenshots from yesterday. Here's the immediate reaction in the chat, after Kassir was rude and told you not to interrupt him. Pt. 1
@emfundertaker
So I guess they learned that apparently the single subject rule can be ignored, and they can ram through whatever they want, despite the bill pertaining to this topic still being in committee?
This is awful
