Subtractive EQ'ing is almost always the answer to getting rid of all the 'strange' noises going on with an audio track. I see a lot of people jump to boosting first. My rule is: Subtract before you Add. Rarely have an issue with that method.

Anyone who’s known me on here for a while from interacting or working together knows how long I’ve been at this & grinding out the work. It’s so bizarre to me after posting a big achievement the sheer amount of fellow producers & engineers sending me abuse in the DMs. Very odd.

Been doing this over 10 years and my first 5 were for free just trying to get my name in any door that would open. Since the door ‘opened’ I’ve had nothing but more struggle, more hassle, more headaches but I realised the joy was in the creation, not the business.

As a producer never trap yourself in a box. You want to have the ability to make a wide range of styles / genres in the bag. That opens you up to such a wider clientele base & you’re going to learn so much more than you would staying confined to one genre.

Your recording equipment doesn’t have to be top of the range in order to achieve great results. On the road with artists we’ve used an SM57 into a 2i2 sat in a hotel room & the song blew up. It’s not about the equipment per se, it’s how you use it.
