As much as I love TF2, the game is basically on its way out. I'd honestly believe that gaming would be better if TF2 just never existed, because most games that take ideas from TF2 tend to suck, and TF2 also introduced a lot of the worst game features to exist, mainly loot boxes.

Valve rushing an update when they had 2 whole months to prepare it, releasing it in an unfinished, buggy state, and the game hits an all time high in players and people are praising it to kingdom fucking come because valve did the bare minimum as always.
It's all so tiresome...

To clarify: I do not think TF2 should be an eSport. The game does not need to become one in order to thrive.
The game has been played for over 15 years because the game is fun, the characters are great, and is a shitpost money printer.
It was not because of the comp scene.
