Today was my last day at

, after nearly 5 years. Whatever you're imagining the talent, the culture, the inspiration, the passion to be like behind those doors...it was all that and more. Coolest job I could've ever dreamed of having.

Exciting news! On 11/11, I will be joining

For what it's worth, it was really nice they let us stay on Teams and email for the day and say a proper goodbye to everyone. That really did help me process and I'm very thankful for it.

As cool as it is that I got to keep the job and move back to my home state, I think it makes today hit way harder, like a part of me just died. Bungie was what kept the memory of living in Washington with my family alive, and now I have pretty much no reason to go there.

I'm thankful for my time with the studio, am absolutely gutted that the ride has come to a full stop SO close to my 5-year anniversary and while I was working on Bungie's "next big thing". Kills me. Marathon is going to be great...but I wanted to be one of those making it so. 💔

Like in one moment I have this cool thing going where I secretly work for this magical place in a state where it's rare to do so, now I am on the job hunt and may need to make a compromise to provide what I need to my family (like work for a health insurance company)

I don't want to play the blame game - company got huge and they had to take certain risks to evolve and make new stuff. Hardly recognizable from the Bungie I joined (perks, culture, size, vibe) pre-covid, but that felt ok as long as we got to keep making great stuff.

Anyway, to end on a positive note, I'm excited for what's next. It was always a gamble to leave indie studios and work in AAA in terms of personal fulfillment and happiness. I miss being a scrappy multi-disciplinary game artist, and I'll probably land on my feet?

Was just so caught off-guard by today. No warning this was coming...feels so soon and so catasrophic considering the last wave wasn't that long ago and we've been mostly hearing cautiously encouraging stuff from leadership lately. I'm devastated and miss my coworkers already.

If anyone's wondering what I worked on at Bungie, everything was a group effort but I was mostly focus on Destiny 2's Director. I implemented the visual overhaul of Beyond Light, Witch Queen and Lightfall's Director, as well as many raid/activity nodes and built some maps.
