@ImsirovicAzur Envoys do not enjoy executive or legi power but his tenure saw the UK initiate sanctions vs. the Dodik regime (Cvijanovic was also sanctioned by UK before US) & significantly increase assistance to OS BiH. UK support for 2022/23 elxn law changes was a blow but that’s on the govt.

This also follows BiH Const Crt striking down @OHR_BiH amendments to the FBiH const as discriminatory. So, literally every point of justification for Schmidt's actions in Oct 2022/April 2023 has now been revealed as a sham. As a few of us said then!

@AIsakovic1 The students are doing what students do; trying to build a better world for themselves. That is important & necessary work. But leaders are easier to swap out than societal & ideological norms. Serbia is still waiting on its broader catharsis. This may or not be a step twd it.

The student protests in Serbia continue to defy gravity & have already forced the resignation of the PM. They remain unlikely to topple Vucic himself, however, (absent some major developments) bc unlike Milosevic in 2000, Vucic enjoys the steadfast support of US & EU.

NATO’s greatest sin with respect to the Milosevic regime is that he was not bombed into capitulation in 1991 or 1992. By waiting until 1999 to act directly vs his regime, cc 150,000 lives were needlessly lost in Europe’s worst atrocities since the Holocaust, above all in Bosnia.

FBiH govt raises minimum wage to 1,000 BAM; widely out of whack w/ real wages; surge in layoffs; govt panics, will now top up private sector wages for small business, i.e. massively increase public spending to prop up businesses collapsed by govt's original decision.
