One Piece - Romance Dawn Arc
This was a good introduction to the story. I liked the introduction to Luffy and Zoro and their motivations. I know it really takes time for the story to pick, as I will remain patient. I’m still enjoying this nonetheless, as it is fun and charming.

One Piece - Water 7 Arc
Everyone was gassing up this arc before I started it, and wow was everyone right. One Piece is the only series that can make me feel emotional over a boat, and the drama between Usopp and the Straw Hats was devastating. (1/2)

I was waiting to get to this iconic scene. Even though Luffy knows little to nothing about the situation, he’s still willing to help out his friend, even allowing her to wear his straw hat. He’s a real one for this.

One Piece - Whole Cake Island Arc
Another brilliant arc—I was surprised to see how much it was centered around Sanji, and I thought it was about time. Sanji’s backstory, motivations, and character development cemented him as one of my favorite members of the Straw Hats. (1/2)

My new favorite arc so far, and it was good at that. This arc proved to me that Oda knows how to do emotion well, and to me, it’s currently his strongest area. This arc also showed me that Nami is a compelling character and isn’t just there.

I was a bit more iffy on this arc—not a bad one, but nothing here was all that interesting to me aside from Nami being introduced. I’m sure that it’s going to get better as it goes on though, so don’t take my thoughts on this arc the wrong way.

Also I didn’t realize this in the couple of chapters before but this is Blackbeard right? If so his first appearance and also first encounter with Luffy was pretty funny, not what I was expecting at all.

Not sure if I’m the only one who has felt this way before, but being caught up with OP feels a bit surreal. If someone told me two years ago that I would be an OP fan in the future I would have said they’re crazy, but here I am now lol.

One Piece - Alabasta Arc
This was an amazing arc—the best one so far IMO. Every character here had such great moments to shine and there felt like a lot of stakes in this arc which is what I love. Crocodile was a pretty cool villain and probably my favorite so far.

Two characters I can safely say are both Guts and Hyakkimaru. They were going through it since the moment they were born. Also Dororo is an underrated anime for those who haven’t seen it.

One Piece - Syrup Village Arc
I felt the same way about this arc as I did with Orange Town. Not much here stood out to me and it was a bit boring, although the fight scenes were cool, and hearing about the reason why Usopp would lie about pirates coming to the village was sad.

One Piece - Baratie Arc
This was actually a pretty good arc, and probably my favorite so far. It had some nice emotional moments involving Zoro and especially Sanji. Speaking of Sanji, he’s actually a pretty compelling character and great inclusion to the Straw Hats.

One Piece - Enies Lobby Arc
Yet again, y’all were right about another arc. Enies Lobby certainly lives up to the hype with its amazing character writing, Robin’s backstory, great emotional moments, awesome fight scenes, and Luffy learning Gear 2. An absolutely fantastic arc.

This is probably my favorite moment in One Piece yet; Luffy and the Strawhats willing to hold up the same burden Robin does and Robin realizing that they are her Nakama and deciding that she wants to live. Such an iconic and emotionally powerful scene that I finally understand.

Infinity Train technically didn’t have it’s conclusion because it’s not getting finished, but season 4 left me very unsatisfied. Hopefully it will eventually get finished.

I ended up enjoying this arc more than I expected to because I think the great stuff here outshines the bad. There’s a lot to uncover with this arc since it’s so long, but I’m gonna keep it as short as I can. (1/3)

This was actually incredible. Everything from the writing, the emotion, the powerful moments, return of a bunch of characters, and storytelling made this a fantastic arc. I have no major complaints with it whatsoever. Easily my new favorite arc so far.

This might not have been the most exciting arc, but it was a fun one and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I liked the humor here and the stuff I learned about some lore. Also Luffy having to make the difficult decision to meet up with his crew or save Ace.

I was originally going to say that this arc felt like the calm before the storm considering the coming arcs, but man did it get crazy at the end. Also the new information on Gold Roger in this was pretty interesting.

Another short arc, but this one seems very, VERY important. The reveal that Imu was the ruler of the world all along genuinely shocked me, and it makes me think about whats going to happen in the future of this story with them.

One Piece - Impel Down Arc
Now this arc was great, with perfect pacing and a good balance between fast paced action as well as emotion and elements that move the plot forward. Now it’s time for Marineford, the arc that got me interested in One Piece, and one of the best to many.

I think it’s interesting that Luffy doesn’t want to know where the One Piece is, as it shows that he much values the sense of going on a satisfying adventure to find it on his own rather than already knowing where it is and it ending soon.

One Piece - Punk Hazard Arc
This is a pretty solid one, it was fun and introduces important characters for the story going forward. It feels like a lot of build-up, and that makes it fit into the overall story very well. Not sure how others feel about this one but I liked it.

This arc is as equally loved as it is hated. Where do I stand? Honestly, somewhere in the middle. There is certainly fun to be had in Skypiea, but all of the stuff in the first half of it felt like early OP arcs to me, and it felt a bit slow. (1/2)

Well this was quite a short arc. I don’t have much to say about it. It was cool to see Buggy return and I was introduced to some new characters. And now the Straw Hats are making their way to the Grand Line. Looking forward to reading more later today.

Y’all were right, this was a very good arc. There were so many stand out moments in this arc, such as moments with Luffy and especially Chopper. Chopper has such an emotional backstory, and seeing Hiriluk’s dream be fulfilled was incredible.

Definitely one of my favorite arcs in the series, and my favorite post-timeskip one so far. Oda was able to present his great storytelling, amazing backstories, and intriguing villains in this arc through Doffy, who is now my favorite villain yet.

This was a pretty decent arc, but I just don’t have much to say about it. What’s the deal with Zunesha, though? It seems very intriguing with much mystery surrounding them, and I feel that it could be foreshadowing something in the future.

It’s good to be back! Even though this arc wasn’t anything incredible, it was nice to see the Strawhats reunited. I missed this crew a lot, and coming back to this series feels like meeting up with old friends again after a while.

Well, that’s it for pre-time-skip, and just like Luffy, I’m gonna be taking a bit of a break. A two-week break from One Piece to be exact. I had fun reading so far, but for now, I should slow down as to not experience burnout. I will be posting my thoughts on post-war in a bit.
