I've spent the last few years targeting my work exclusively for agents, but I'm going to try something new.

Closing the door today on one of the best parts of my life, and I have a gift to share with all of you. Be warned, it's a large PDF.
Onto a part that looks like it's going to be even better. Grateful and excited to be a piece of what is being built.
@mjrill
I respect McMurphy including those in his piece, but I think it goes to show the dangerous area he's getting into from a moral standpoint as a journalist. If both Trevon and his mother vehemently deny the story, it's worth questioning whether or not it should be published IMO.
Mayock has been GM for just two years and people want him gone? The impatience for a guy who moved from the media directly into a GM role is astounding.

All I ask is you share it w/ others!
@alltwentytwo
Physically matured but frame isn't getting any bigger. Lack of athleticism is obvious. Carries too much weight around the midsection. All hustle but not an intelligent player. May need catered to by the organization to find any success. Worse at cooking than Eli Apple.
Folks I know it's not a big deal but I made dean's list for my college this semester with a 3.67 GPA. As someone who had a sub 2.0 GPA in high school it's a proud moment.
Time for a new pinned tweet. The 2020 database. Player cutups & scouting reports galore.
Also want to add, if you enjoy my work please consider donating.
I want to turn this into a full time job when I get out of college next year & every cent helps.
"Did you even watch him play?!?!"
No, dude. I have my eyes taped closed for every eval. I just slap the keyboard and 750 words come out describing the player's traits.
Things it's okay to do
- Think Etienne was right to go back to school
- Think Etienne was wrong to go back to school
- Think you're not informed enough to know
- Have an opinion on the subject
-----
Things it's not okay to do
- Insult him
I'm glad we could clear that up.
Announcement time! I'm starting a business called Jarvis Scouting Services ()
I will be working a draft cycle in advance evaluating upcoming seniors off their junior tape. I'm hoping this will be a valuable resource to agents & folks around the industry.
Why are over 40 people on a random google spreadsheet? Because that spreadsheet has tape on pretty much every prospect. Introducing your home for the 2019 NFL Draft season...
Want to thank
@RobRang
for giving me a great opportunity in writing for Lindy's this year. I still remember buying a copy of their draft magazine when I was first getting into the NFL Draft. It's an honor to be a part of it now!
Go buy a copy!
@JoshLekach
My 1 yo daughter exploring the library. She picks books for us to bring home, meets new kids, & perks up if we even mention the library.
Enjoy your X ad revenue off rage farming though, I imagine most people who have ever stepped foot in a library know how silly you sound. :)
Weird to spend over 20 years covering professional football and still treat dozens of players fighting for a football career and life-changing wealth with such disregard.
As
@GrindingTheTape
says, it's a great morning to grind tape! All 32 teams are officially in
#DraftSZN
and it's time for you to get in it too. I've got you hooked up with cutups for all the players.
Seems like we're really getting into that part of the year where a lot of assholes start making their appearances.
Reminder that
1. Personally attacking people over football is stupid.
2. It's okay to have different opinions.
3. The block button can get the action.
Updated for new site
New followers, here's where you can find my work!
(Website with all my work)
… (My Youtube channel with all my cuts & videos)
… (2019 database with all tape cuts + future reports)
Just want to extend this offer to anyone interested - if you want to hop into Zoom with me to watch tape together just ask. Would love to get insight and opinions from others watching tape together.

I've put together a sample version of my 2019 Draft Portfolio, only including quarterbacks. The final copy may look different, but this is the basic framework you can expect. You won't find this level of depth on the quarterback class ANYWHERE ELSE.
You can acknowledge that an unpaid internship dramatically helped your career path while also acknowledging that many people can't afford to work an unpaid internship. One being true doesn't make the other false.

At the very top of the list of things you should not be doing this draft season as a reader.
Don't @ a player on negative analysis. It's immature and makes things seem personal when they aren't. Prospects don't need that negativity, and you don't need to stir the pot.
Over 2000 cutups available on the database now for the 2019 NFL Draft. Over 700 players with tape. It's October 31st. Bookmark this, you're going to need it for the next six months.
If y'all find a fun player in summer scouting you better tell me about him. (And I'll tell you about the ones I think are fun)
Some of my favorites so far.
- NDSU QB Trey Lance
- UCLA QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson
- USC LB Palaie Gaoteote IV
- South Carolina CB Israel Mukuamu
The son of a former NFL HC that has been studying the game his entire life and took his team to a super bowl appearance in his third year as HC vs. one tweety boi who watched the tape
I don't know why it took this long to (truly) hit me given that we've been planning since December but holy shit I'm actually getting married to my best friend in 10 days.
All tape has been added to the database and we're completely up to date. Get it out to anyone you know who may need a way of tracking cutups this season.
I usually don't share personal stuff, but I'll make an exception. My dog, Sugar, was diagnosed with lymphoma in October. She had to be put down today after kicking cancer's ass for three months. I can't put into words how hard it is to lose my sidekick since age 10.
This time last year
- Metcalf was supposed to be top 15 lock
- Grier had some R1 hype
- Greedy Williams, Mack Wilson, Deionte Thompson, and Kelvin Harmon were all gonna be first rounders
- Justin Herbert was gonna declare
- Riley Ridley and Hakeem Butler got R1 buzz
(Continued)
Just reached 2500 followers and I'm so incredibly grateful for every one of you. So I've got a gift for you. I'm giving out five pre-orders for the 2019 portfolio for retweeters. Get this to 250 retweets and I'll make it ten.
Now that the draft is officially going all virtual - extend the selection clock. Seems like teams may need the extra time in an unprecedented war room experience.
If CFB season gets cancelled expect a lot of people that you have respect for on here losing their cool and getting emotional. It's understandable - football is a big part of their life. Keep that in mind when you engage with them. We're in uncharted waters & everyone is on edge.
I have a gift for everyone who follows my work - will post it after some announcements get made here in the coming days. Easily the thing I'm most proud of during my past 4 years of working in the NFL Draft media industry.
Average # of non-Combine invites drafted from 2019-2013 (excluding last two years for COVID) = 34.71
So here's a thread trying to predict 35 non-combine invitees getting drafted based on what I know on how teams approach the process. I have not watched many of these guys fwiw.
Finalized my top 30 board.
My top rated player at each position.
QB: Justin Herbert
RB: Jonathan Taylor
WR: Jerry Jeudy
TE: Adam Trautman
OT: Tristan Wirfs
OG: Ben Bredeson
C: Matt Hennessy
DL: Derrick Brown
EDGE: Chase Young
LB: Isaiah Simmons
CB: Jeff Okudah
SAF: Ashtyn Davis
Cam Newton said during Super Bowl week he absolutely would be back with the Panthers. Owner David Tepper's response: ‘'Is he healthy? Tell me that and then we can talk.''
#Browns
WR Odell Beckham Jr, who took the field with $350K Richard Mille watch, violated a league rule prohibiting hard objects, I’m told. (There is no rule against jewelry.) The league will address it with him and the team, but that’s likely as far as it goes.
My QB board for 2021 is now 25 deep. My current top 5:
1. Trevor Lawrence
2. Justin Fields
3. Trey Lance
4. Brock Purdy
5. Shane Buechele
Still yet to watch some notables like Mond, Costello, and Ahlers.
The 2019 draft has just ended, but plenty of people are already getting their summer watch on for 2020. The 2020 database is going to be the best source around for finding information on prospects. 50+ senior OTs with tape added recently. Start there.
It's April. You need to watch draft prospects. I've got cutups for almost all of them. Not highlights. Not biased BS. I've got players as they are. Just click the TAPE link and start watching players.
Literally every day I see people still asking where they can find tape with Draft Breakdown no longer around. PLEASE share this and make sure everyone knows where to find unbiased cutups for all players. It's the best resource any draftnik can have.
I firmly believe in Wyoming LB Logan Wilson as a day two prospect. Checked athletic boxes at the Combine. Good size. Very smart both on and off-field. Three-time captain at Wyoming with no medical/character issues. Wouldn't surprise me if he pushed for top 50 picks.
Leaders come in different forms. Some are loud. Some are quiet. Some are vulgar. Some are clean. The one thing they all have in common is that they are themselves. Russ might be corny as hell but every player is going to feed off of his energy because he's genuine.
Ed Oliver situation comes down to this. Treat a grown man like a grown man. Oliver could easily have just shut it down and left to prepare for the draft. Instead he's on the sidelines supporting his team. Ripping a jacket off because he's not active is just petty and unwarranted.
Incredibly excited to announce that I will be joining
@DTSportsNetwork
as host of the Downtown NFL Draft podcast. Going to be a blast taking y'all through what's left of the 2019 draft and beginning work on 2020. Will have more information in the coming days.
As a 5'8" sedentary fat guy I just beat a fit 6'2" 16-year old 1v1 in basketball. I have peaked athletically and my ego is going to ride this wave for a week.
I call it a draft portfolio, but you'd likely call it a draft guide.
- Over 150 reports
- Fire graphics 🔥
- Seven round mock + post-mock recap
403 pages and in the books.

Big announcement for 2020 database.
@FritschJesse
and I are gonna be joining forces to build a draft database for the ages.
Jesse and I have had our issues in the past, but the level of work he does is indisputable.
On the right are our two 2019 databases. Left is 2020 setup.
Over 140 underclassmen declared for the draft last year. 28 are unsigned. 17 are on IR or exempt. 16 are on practice squads. That's over 43% of all the guys who declared early. (This is according to Ourlads depth charts)
The anti-boneless wings crowd can eat their heart out. I just got 60 of them for $23 because the local burger place does a $0.39 per wing deal on Mondays. 👀
UCLA's Osa Odighizuwa has one of the most fascinating body types you'll find for a defensive lineman. 6015 and 282 pounds. 34 1/8" arm, 10 3/8" hand, and 84" wing.
Getting to that time of draft season where a lot of assholes start getting loud on here. Here's some ground rules to follow.
- Leave your ego at the door. Everyone misses.
- Stop getting mad at what others think about a player.
- Don't be an ass or you'll get blocked.
"Wake up sprinting. Don't be scared."
High-profile signings. Catalysts, evolution. Social science, obsessive learning. Human beings who rose to meet a moment.
This isn't an "all in" narrative.
This is the story of how the Rams were really built:
Just over two weeks left before draft night rolls around and I see a lot of people trying to find tape. Would be much appreciated if y'all could share the database to make sure everyone searching for unbiased cutups can find em!
Shit like this is why players hate the media. Kawhi literally followed it up with "around the same age as me."
Absolutely disgusting to put this type of clickbait trash out there.
Sure he plays at Banana Tech and all of his touches came from screens or vertical shots, but he had astronomical market share in a WR group full of future custodial engineers! He's clearly high upside!
Notes from DJ pre-Combine presser
Darius Robinson in 20s
Alt, Fashanu, Latham, Fuaga top 4 OTs
Colson, Wilson, Sainristil high for DJ
More value in experienced QBs coming out of college these days
Odunze is DJ's favorite player in the draft (not highest, but favorite)
Takes from day 1 weigh-ins
• Shenault 6'0 5/8" 227 is a really odd body type - makes testing way more interesting
• Claypool at 238?!? 😱
• 6'3 5/8" 216 is good # for Higgins
• Kmet is YUGE - 6'5 3/4" 262 and it shows on tape too
• Thad Moss 6'1 7/8" is concerning for TE
Calling scouts lazy might be one of the most hilariously horrible things I've ever heard. Argue for intangibles over measurables. Argue for coaching & fit over talent. But if it's THAT easy then go do it. Go pick all the good players. Go pick your QB at 262.
