For centuries we've had anatomical maps of how the body's organs are connected, but what would a diagram of the immune system’s connections look like? In @Nature we report our initiative to map the "interactome" that links human immune cells together (1/14)

@Walidws @SynBioAfrica Great to hear the interest! We are keen on making these accessible to anyone who could benefit from it. I've sent you an email with links to our recordings of these workshops and some other suggested materials, in case you find them useful when teaching your own students.

A great #ResearchJobs oppurtunity with @GavinJWright to discover how understudied viruses with #pandemic potential infect cells. Spans both wetlab and #CompBio. Gavin is a fantastic mentor, and preliminary data we've collected have already led to some spectacular discoveries!

@MEActNOW @PLOSBiology Thanks for asking - we're still early in understanding LRRC15, with more focus on observational studies. Although we considered of repurposing LRRC15-inhibitor drugs, recent data (PMC9753891) suggest it may be better to increase LRRC15, not inhibit, which is a more difficult task

@jhepkema I do see potential in this. Some adaptations would be needed to tailor a SAVEXIS binding assay for that context, but the principles are similar enough that it sounds feasible with time. Definitely open to talking more if the idea of tweaking the technique doesn't scare you off!

@expressionedits It's definitely a new highlight for my career to see one of my science presentation slides immortalized in cookie form🍪

@BouvierJourno @PLOSBiology Indeed, there can be other risk factors behind why some people get more sick than others (which we also studied in . But that's comparing each person's "baseline risk". You'll always reduce your own risk below your baseline by not smoking & staying fit!
