I hope this pushback vs the Villafuertes gains traction until the elections. It’s time for a change, Cam. Sur!
BONG RODRIGUEZ SLAMS LRAY VILLAFUERTE OVER ONLINE ATTACKS Camarines Sur gubernatorial aspirant Bong Rodriguez called out 2nd District Rep. LRay Villafuerte for cyberbullying a student journalist. "Cyberbullying an innocent kid is a cowardly act. You are supposed to protect these kids. You are a congressman, act like one," Rodriguez wrote on Facebook on Saturday, February 8, in response to Villafuerte's tirade against a Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) student journalist. Earlier that day, Villafuerte took to Facebook to discredit a CSPC senatorial and gubernatorial survey conducted by The SPARK, the school's official student publication. He accused the publication and its associate editor of political bias, citing the student's past support for opposition candidates in the 2022 elections. Villafuerte alleged that the survey results were manipulated and questioned the credibility of the voting process, claiming it was conducted via email—an approach he argued lacked proper verification. He also criticized the delayed release of results, insinuating possible tampering. The congressman further slammed The SPARK for allegedly ignoring the Villafuerte family's contributions to CSPC, including school buildings, scholarships, and land acquisition for the college. He also attacked Rodriguez, calling him an "opportunist" with no tangible contributions to the province. Rodriguez, however, dismissed Villafuerte's claims, condemning the public targeting of a student journalist and urging the congressman to act responsibly.
