Hold the line!
When running a vertical, it’s imperative that a WR doesn’t drift or get pushed outside.
By “holding the line,” the receiver is able to give the QB room to put the ball where only the WR can catch it.
Make sure to not drift UNTIL the ball takes you out there!

I love this Tunnel Screen from Kent State.
The QB has his eyes on the RB while he drops and then comes back to hit the Boundary Slot Receiver on the Screen.
The Slot widens the DB by backpedaling outside before coming back, giving the Right Guard an easier angle for the block.
