@MelodiKitzmillr Yes - my research results for my MPhil thesis situates pastor sexual misconduct perpetrated over a congregation member, no matter the age, as sexual exploitation as it sits under the banner of gender based sexual violence - meaningful consent can never be given

Place the blame & shame back with the one who abused their power and have caused the chaos, confusion and pain

It takes humility to apologize for not believing victim survivors when they speak truth … if that apology comes with a “but” or a justification - it’s not really an apology. I’m sorry. (Full stop)

@AbidingInLove_ @DrSuzzle As I replied to Tony above - Yes there are those allies who actually do know and support them and it’s probably because they are all engaging in sexual exploitation or finance abuse it getting some form of kickback themself - yes they are complicit

Let’s not place blame on those who did not see or could not see - they were strategically deceived just as the victims were

@cathynewman @Channel4News @clairesinka Thank you for reporting on this. When the survivor said she would be too scared to say anything to her perpetrator still today that broke heart. Yet, I understand. My research on pastor sexual exploitation in Australia revealed the same entrapment and impacts. Shine the light
