Visor production has finished. Overall, 10,520 visors were made and have been used in 4 different hospitals, doctors’ surgeries, care homes, Children’s Community Nurses, ambulance crews and our own First Aid team. We have been delighted to support the work of the NHS in this way.
JHS are proud to share news that our exceptional Urdu teacher Mr Nawaz has been highly commended by both the Pakistani High Commission and Punjab University at a formal acknowledgement ceremony for his invaluable contribution to Urdu teaching and learning.
Congratulations to all our Year 13 students on their A Level and Level 3 Vocational results, with the majority of students having achieved their first choice University place.

Four Year 13 students have been invited to a event in London on the 6 May to celebrate the King’s Coronation. The invitation is from The National Literacy Trust in recognition of the support that the students have shown to their peers in their roles as Literacy Champions.
18 6th Form students have been accepted by the University of Cambridge. The students successfully applied for their places via the University’s HE+ Programme, where it is committed to widening participation to higher education. Very proud to have so many representatives from JHS.
Today JHS welcomed a Senior Crown Prosecutor, Qamar Iqbal to hold a workshop with students in Y11 to Y13 who are interested in pursuing a career in law . Qamar is JHS Alumni who left in 2009.

Our Y13 students made amazing memories at the Coronation celebrations. Their day started at Lambeth Palace then onto St. Margaret’s Church, next to Westminster Abbey for a live screening of The Coronation. Then lunch at Lambeth Palace and a chat with the Archbishop of Canterbury.

JHS students went to TDA today to compete in a Panathlon (multi-sport event) where they took part in boccia, curling, skittles, target throwing, table tennis and more. There were five secondary schools involved, and the JHS team came away with first place!! Well done!!!

Congratulations to our students Josh (Y8) and Aiden (Y11) who competed in the Cambridgeshire Junior County Closed squash championships at the weekend. Josh won the U13's and U15's title and Aiden came runner up in the U17's category. Amazing results!! Well done!!
30 of our Y10 students took part in a public speaking workshop with a trainer from the Speaker's Trust, arranged in conjunction with ARU and The Jack Petchey Foundation. This will lead to an in-school competition for the best speaker, leading to a regional heat.

Another sporting success for JHS students Aiden (Y10) and Josh (Y7). A superb end to the squash season for these brothers who traveled to Manchester recently for the England Squash Silver Sanctioned Event. Aiden placed 4th and Josh 3rd. Impressive work!! Well done!!
Today saw the launch of the Whistlers Young Referee course at JHS. This 6 week course is being delivered by Miss O'Connor to girls aged 11-14 introducing them to the core skills of officiating while helping grow their confidence more broadly within a leadership role.

Our Year 7 Exhibition of Excellence started on Tuesday evening showcasing the amazing projects our talented students have been working on in their My World lessons. The exhibition is running until Thursday 4pm-5pm.

JHS Sports Leaders were recently invited along to the POSH ground for the School Football City Finals. Our Sports Leaders helped with marshalling and stewarding spectators on the day, as well as being ball boys and girls for some of the matches.
Last night was our first in person Presentation Evening since 2019 and what a huge success. Well done to all the award winners on their achievements and big thanks to Dai Greene for presenting.
Today our Year 12 students have been having mock interviews with local employers. Thanks to volunteers from the NHS, Army, HMPO, DWP, NEACO, ARU, Milestone, Aldrich Group and Growth Works.
Last week Jack Hunt celebrated National Sports Week with a weeklong of sporting activities. Kinball and Quidditch were the new additions to PE lessons which the students certainly enjoyed learning and taking part in.

4 Y7 students attended the Katharine of Aragon memorial service at Peterborough Cathedral on Friday. Students laid pomegranates on Queen Katharine's grave as part of the service. Divyansh read his excellent biography of Queen Katharine as part of the service.

Great attendance last night at the Year 7 Habitat Exhibition. This was a great chance for Students to show of what they have been working on over the last half term.
We are pleased to announce that we have recently gain the Fairachiever award, this awards means that we have embedded Fairtrade into their daily life and work to raise awareness of Fairtrade in their local community; and is the highest level awards within the programme.
JHS competed in the Peterborough Schools Trampolining competition at Nene park Academy last week. All the students did brilliantly. We came away with 2 silver medals, Latesha Y8 and Madeline Y12 Fantastic achievement! Well done!
