A true spiritual journey is like a light, bringing changes from the internal to the external. One does not need to create a rule to turn the light on... it is welcomed by all. When one tries to change the exterior to fit the interior, it is not faith... but justification.
This is my daily reminder that I'm trying to hold loose to what I think should be. As lightly cupped hands hold water, I want lightly hold what's true, and let all else freely pass through. I am trying not to grip so tight... to my beliefs, expectations, nor emotions.
It would not be a challenge if it did not press upon the boundaries of your limitations... It takes courage, faith and diligence to push through. Keep going!
I’m at an Esperanza Spalding performance, and it is one of the most creative performances I’ve seen. Poetry, interpretive dance, incredible musicianship… It really is an engaging experience.
