Even though it wasn’t the biggest game, I had went from nothing to something and how fast it came caused me to almost stop indefinitely.

Note to this.. This is how I actually broke in.
Solo indie dev at the time but during that process I knew I wanted to work in AAA at some point. So while developing, I was making a mental note of what I enjoyed the most during the process.

Depends on the size of the studio, but if you mean AAA then I have to confess that's a hard transition to make.
Make a portfolio with your single, favorite aspect of gamedev and apply with that as your specialty. List everything else as an additional skill.

Shortly after I started to really dive into unreal engine. While the interface can be incredibly confusing and look like too much. You MUST sit down and take the time to learn it. Game development is all about learning and growing, over and over and over and over again.
