@dogzrcoolnstuff @LaChoke08 @gorskon We need academic science research to keep people healthy. Grad students are mostly researchers since classes aren't their main goal. We cannot have big pharma funding all science because then there would be a conflict of interest. This is like a checks and balance system.

@burdought @jmuiuc This was written very politely as a reminder for people because the subtleties matter here and its an important, topic especially for them. Name-calling and telling someone they need help, *especially* on this thread makes you look like the snowflake who needs help.

@jmuiuc Well written and productive. I know sometimes I will misspeak on a variety of topics because things are engrained in me from how/where I grew up. I think because someone is unique, race would often get pointed out more.

@mgdotdev I had an entire appointment (hours & money wasted) for something that should have been briefly approved by another expert. Stop wasting everyone's time to pad paychecks. I literally had a meeting w/ my doc to have her say "yes you should get what the radiologist requested." 😆

@dr_alphalyrae I wrote a strong email to Hinge, Bumble & Tinder about the lack of ethics in their software choices (i.e., allowing unlimited matches as if it's realistic, showing me men I said no on over and over, & allowing abusive behavior). Guess who got no reply or sent to a chat bot.
