Government needs to rebuild the (so often talked about but ignored) ‘system’ and rapidly. Start with reforming social care. It’s an investment not a cost.
Hospitals can't cope with influx of new admissions when they can't discharge patients who are ready to go. Without adequate social care in place operations get cancelled and people wait for hours in A&E. Why is this so difficult for governments to grasp?
