@ralphalexandr I think it's because she was 1 of the first white people of elite status 2 recognize humanity in various African cultures. She didn't homogenize us or make us seem less than & she was married into a family that colonized many of our countries. Symbolism was and is powerful.

The person I’ve seen come closest to Ahmad Rashad in basketball media was @Cabbie with Kobe Bryant. Unfortunate that a lot of those clips weren’t seen on American TV but I can’t think of a single journalist/content creator Kobe gave more access to in his career.

The domino effect and spread to so many other cities.
We’ve never seen a domino effect in other cities as strongly as this either. 2009-2016 & even beyond people have peacefully protested. It’s 2020 in the middle of a pandemic where the country is riddled in unemployment & limited resources. There’s no more peace.
